Six Flags Magic Mountain - Planning trip help please!
Six Flags Magic Mountain: I realise it is memorial day weekend in the US this coming weekend so I was interested to know how this will affect the number of people visiting the park.
I'm going to LA in a couple of days and will make a visit to magic mountain sometime over the next week and a half. I realise it is memorial day weekend in the US this coming weekend so I was interested to know how this will affect the number of people visiting the park, should I go on the friday before or the tuesday after? Would really like to get the most out of the day so any help/ guidance would be appretiated!
If I were you I would pick X or Tatsu to ride first because early in the day is about the only time the lines won't be ridiculous. I would ride X first because it closes before the park does and Tatsu would be better at night. Some rides you can skip but ride Goliath and Deja Vu.
Cheers Jake, is it possible to get on most of the coasters in a day? Should I go before the memorial day holiday?
I don't know about Memorial Day but this is what I'd do.
Run to Tatsu right as the park opens
Next go to Deja Vu
Go ride Riddler
Superman
Goliath
Collosus
Scream
Break
Batman
Riddler Again Skip Physclone
Deja Vu again
Goliath
Once you get tired and want to take a break get some water bottles and head to X cause it will be a long wait. After X get in a quick ride or two because their will be about 30 minutes left intill the park closes. X's line is extremly long but it is a good ride. Not many good flat rides so skip those. Get a quick Ride on Arrowhead if your hot.
That is what I'd do but you could run after the park opens and wait for X to open but It will take a bit of time out of your day cause it opens after the park opens.
Is Deja Vu open these days? I hadn't seen it operating in ages, but then I haven't been to the park since last summer.

Yes, it has been Robert. I was there last Saturday(the 20th), and it was operating all day. I am going this sunday again, and I will see if it is running, and post about it.
Also, the tuesday after memorial day will most likely be an ideal day to visit six flags. People are back at school, or have already celebrated and are relaxing the day after. Definantly go on the tuesday.
I would recommend going on Tuesday after the holiday to avoid the crowds. School will still be in session for the next week or two. Fridays is still a busy day.
And yes most of the lines are really long for the popular rides. So do the popular rides first and take lots of water it gets HOT!

I recommend going on tue. It's been a long time since I worked there, but weekends are always bust except for maybe the last couple of hours before closing on the end of a holiday or sunday. Your best bet would be week day. It also pays to see if there is any special events going on (but you don't have that choice) That always seemed to make a differance when I worked there. Have Fun!!!
I am still currently on holiday in LA and have just got back from my six flags visit - thank you to all that offered advice. I had a brilliant day and managed to ride - Tatsu, Scream, Goliath, X, Riddlers revenge, Ninja, Superman the escape, Collossus, Revolution, Gold rush thingy, Viper and a couple of water rides. Deja Vu and Psyclone were shut for the whole day. They have a $15 VIP thing were you can get fast pass on four rides from a list of selected attractions which really helped. Tatsu was amazing, really brilliant and more intense then I ever imagined. I had a close shave with disaster on Superman when on the return leg - backwards into the station - the car didn't stop where it should and if flew through the loading platform out the back of the building onto a extra bit of track stopping a few metres in front of a brick wall! We only there for 10 mins before the machanics arrived but a little scary!
Thanks again guys!
Wow that does sound scary. At least the rest of your trip was good. Was it busy at all or no?

Aww, too bad Deja Vu was closed. It's a real pleaser. Wow, that Superman story is scary.
It was hell getting into the park, only 2 counters open for tickets and then a massive line to go through the gates - but once inside it was fine. The fast passes really helped out we bipassed an hour and a half tatsu line with them and boarded really quickly. I waited until the end of the day to ride X joining the line at around 4.20pm - it took about an hour so not to bad at all.
