Six Flags Magic Mountain Trip Summary 6-10-06
Six Flags Magic Mountain: Here is a rundown of my visit to SFMM on 6-10-06 and some thoughts for those considering going
My wife and I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain today, Saturday 6-10. It was a great trip and we hit most of the rides we wanted to go on. Here's how it went:
We got to the park 10 minutes before the gate opened. We bought tickets online so we didn't have to mess around with buying them when we got there. Both of these moves saved some serious time and I recommend them.
When we got in the park (crowd of people took about 10 minutes to get through) we ran to X. We were the 5th train out and it took 20 minutes. Not the line.. just a function of how that ride works. From there it was on to Viper (walked on again.. around 10:20) and then to Tatsu. The sign said 1.5 hours but we boarded in a little under 1 hour. We tried Deja Vu but the line was 2 hours.. so we moved on to Riddler's.. 20 minutes.. then to Scream.. 20 minutes. At this point the heat was coming on and so were the crowds. Batman was at 1.5 and Goliath, Tatsu, X and Deja all over 2. So we left. We live locally so coming back for those was not a big deal. If we had travelled far we probably would have toughed it out.
1 thought for others.. take it with a grain of salt.. X and Deja Vu both have very "limited" loading styles. Each train loads one at at time and this is VERY time consuming which eventually leads to long lines and waits. Tatsu has 2 loading platforms which go simultaneously and keep the line moving constantly. Take advantage of the early morning to ride X and Deja Vu and then go to Tatsu. The line probably be long (new ride, cool ride) but rider throughput is better than at X and Deja Vu. Either way.. enjoy.
well not ur fault but u DID go on a Saturday....
Is Superman running?
20 minutes is not a long wait so why did you not go to those rides. Do you have season passes.
Yes Superman was running, but only 1 train. Again, not much of a wait. I had been on it before (many times) so it was not a priority.
We went on all the rides I listed above. I just put their wait times for reference.
I thought we did pretty well ... for a Saturday in June.
Next time try a Sunday. Lines can be short or even none-existant. Last time I went was on Sunday 6/18, and got to ride X 3 times in a row with no waiting, at around 3:30 - 4:00 p.m.! That's how short the lines were. There was little or no waiting on any of the other rides either (I got to go straight form the entrance to the train seat on both Riddler's and Batman). The only long lines were for the water rides. We waited about 45 min. to 1 hr. for the Rapids.
EVERYONE! DO YOUR SHARE TO KEEP THE PARK CLEAN!!!
BEST DAY TO GO TO MAGIC MOUNTAIN IS MOTHERS DAY-NOBODY IS THERE-YOU CAN RIDE THE RIDES OVER AND OVER AND OVER-ITS LIKE A GHOST TOWN THERE
Wow, it is so strange to see those kinds of waits for those rides. I always go the first Wednesday of May when the park is so empty, you just keep riding the rides with the same people all day basically. Of course the drawback is no nighttime riding. I can't remember the last time I rode a roller coaster at night. Flipside, I can't rememeber the last time I waited more than 10 minutes to ride Goliath.
During the summer, when is the best time to visit Magic Mountain?
Like any other theme park... mid-week is better than weekend. June and late Aug are better than July or early Aug.
