Any updates on the status of SFMM?

Six Flags Magic Mountain: Would really appreciate knowing if the park will stay open.

First of all, I'd like to say a big thank you to all the employees at SFMM for all their hard work. You are really appreciated!

Does anyone have any updates on the status of the park's fate, whether it will stay open? I haven't seen any news since July when an article came out about the possible annexation by the city in an effort to save the park. I'd really hate to see it close and it would be such a shame if it does.

Thank you for any responses!

My friend said they were bought by Busch. I don't believe it because I have not heard a SINGLE thing about it.

Confirm/Deny?

SFMM will not close. A park like that with a collection of coasters like that won't get closed. Although this might not have been the year to sell that park seeing as how Cedar Fair LP wouldn't have any interest in buying anything else because they just bought all of the Paramount parks, and neither would Busch with the new coasters that they just spent a lot of money on. Also, SFMM doesn't really fit into Busch's style of parks.

A lot of people keep asking me or telling me that Magic Mountain is gonna close down. Whenever I ask them "Where'd you hear that?" they just tell me someone told them. Of course, since I actually keep up with news sources on these websites rather than word of mouth, I know there is nothing true yet.

It seems to me a lot of people really want to believe in this news and automatically jump to conclusions.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like things are on the positive side. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it WILL stay open.

Lets just hope. It's just too hard to believe a park so huge, with so much would just close and demolish all the rides.

Meh, I don't know.

They can't close down a park like that. I mean. Dood. It's CLASSIC. CLASSIC.

Go SFMM, yo.
