What kind of lift hill does Millenium force use?

Cedar Point: I've seen some POV vids and can't figure it out.

What kind of lift hill does Millenium force use? I've seen some POV vids and can't figure it out. How fast is it?

Cable lift system pulls the train up. It's a good 10-15 mph. Doesn't take long to get up to 310 ft! I say get to the Point and ride it.

If you understand how a launch coaster works where a pull dog locks in under the car and then is pulled to launch it. That's how it works on Millenium Force, just that they don't launch you.

This cable comes down with this sled contraption that locks to the underside of the car. Then this huge cable winch system (if you park behind the park by the water park, you'll drive right by MF and you can see the winch system) pulls you to the top of the hill. Pretty much, in half of the time it takes to go 200 ft up on Magnum, you'll be at the top of MF.

I've heard some people call it a cable or evlevator lift system. you go up the lift at a fast speed compared to the regulare chain lift. You will go about 14 or 15 mph up millinnium force. on a regulare chain lift you will go about 5 - 7 mph up the lift.
I think millinnium force would be better if the lift was just a little bit slower.
still a GREAT ride though.

The lift on MF only goes 12 mph and the reason that it doesn't go any slower so that way you can enjoy the view is mainly for ride capacity. If it took any longer to go up the lift, it would cut way down on the number of riders per hour. Not to mention, if a freak storm or wind decides to kick up, with the faster lift you can get the train off the hill quicker rather than get half way up, having to stop, and then make the people walk like 200 ft back down to the station.

Besides, if you're on MF, you aren't there to enjoy the panorama, you're there to ride the best collection of roller coasters in the world! If you want to enjoy the view, you would be on the other side of the park riding the observation tower.

where did you find this out?
cuase on the wikipedia it said Quote: "once the cable lift latches on to the middle car of the train, and once the train is cleared, the cable lift pulls the train up a 45 degree lift at 15 mph (24 km/h)"

It doesnt really matter to me how fast you travel up the lift. the topic of this discussion made me think about it a little and I just decided to throw that out there, but I dont really care.

As soon as I find the source I'll let you know. Secondly, you can't trust wikepedia because anyone can change that information so it's not totally reliable.

I ride millenium force to enjoy the speed and the height of the ride. when I said I think it would be better if the lift was a lttle slower I never thought it would be better becuase you could enoy the "view" what I was tryin to say is that it would be better because I think that it would make the ride more intense beacuase it would seem like the lift keeps on going, which would kind of make it seem bigger to some people.

I love millenium force i think that its one of the best coaster out there, and it doesnt really matter to me how fast the lift is.
