Kings Dominion Halloween HauntKings Dominion: Summary of my visit to KD's Halloween Haunt on Saturday September 29, 2007.
From Lawrence Smith
Went to Halloween Haunt this past Saturday and I must admit, it was a major improvement from last year. Let me start off by reminding you I am not a haunted house fanatic and am quite jumpy. At dusk, there are those fog machines which have the park quite foggy and spooky. There were a lot of actors mingling around the park scaring the crap out of people. It was actually quite funny when it wasn't happening to me. We went to Blackbeards Revenge which was about a 30 min. wait. The major improvement I noticed was that they kept the lines moving at all attractions. While waiting in line, I had to use the restroom so I stepped out into all the fog and an actor came and scared the crap out of me. What really surprised me was that I then went into the restroom, took care of business, and turned around and the actor had followed me inside the restroom. He scared the crap out of me again inside the restroom. The other men there using the bathroom thought it was hilarious. We did the haunted house by the front of the park (I forgot the name) & got a lot of scares in there. Also did "Alien Outpost" where Flight of Fear is located, the 3-D haunted house by Drop Zone, the one by the Grizzly, and "Camp Blood" by Hurler. All of them provided good scares and had plenty of actors inside them. As I previously mentioned, there were also plenty of actors roaming around the park and with the fog, there were plenty of scares for myself and many other guests of the park. The actors would wait for guests to observe the decorations at the park, then sneak up behind them and scare the crap out of them. Overall, a major improvement from last year and I hope they continue with the overall quality. Posted October 1, 2007 at 9:57 AM

Thats great to hear, that they have improved from last year. Last year's fearfest just sucked IMO. Sounds like it wasnt overly crowded like last year either. I sure wish I could make it out there but I probably wont until next year. Posted October 1, 2007 at 10:21 AM

I agree with you 100% Christy, last years Halloween event sucked completely. Actually, it was a nice size crowd this year but they kept the crowds manageable by moving everyone through the haunted houses efficiently.Posted October 2, 2007 at 3:54 AM
