Planning a trip to BGA
Busch Gardens Tampa: I have done some research about which hotel to stay at, but would appreciate any help or reviews of Tampa accomodations.

I was wondering if anyone could help. I am planning a trip to BGA in Febuary. I also want to visit Sea World. I love roller coasters and hope to get them all in. I realize that even though the Parks will be open, that it is the "off season" and some rides may be down for refurbishing etc.
I have done some research about which hotel to stay at, but would appreciate any help or reviews of Tampa accomodations. During this trip, I have no interest in getting to the beach or staying in a high end hotel. Just somewhere clean, safe and good for a long weekend.

Are you sure you want to stay in Tampa? There's a lot more interesting stuff in the Orlando area, and if you're already planning on going to Sea World...

And if you're going for coasters, you may want to skip SeaWorld and go maybe to IOA, seeing as how SW only has one coaster (thought it is pretty good).
BTW, Tampa is a great city w/ plenty to do (only 70 miles from all of Orlando's fun), it's just not quite as touristy. Take it from a native.
If you are looking for a good hotel to stay in that is near to BGA, then I would choose the Wingate on Fowler Ave.
Wingate is known for catering to business types, and the rooms are always nice, plus they have WiFi typically. It is across the street for the college, close to MOSI, and just down the street from BGA, like 2min away. I would avoid any of the other hotels in the area like the plague as they are not the best.
LOL, very true Sherri. Stay away from the MOTELS on Busch Blvd.
