Big News from the A-B Parks.Sea World Orlando: Does anyone have the scoop on the big announcement coming Thur?
From Leon Pfeiffer
So does anyone have the scoop on the "Most significant news in our History!!!" from the A-B Parks? I am certainly curious. I got an email saying they are scheduled to release it via a webcast 11:00 am Thursday. I would love to know. I am thinking about buy Platinum Passes for our family of six (to the tune of $1500!) so I may wait to hear the announcement. My hunch is (based on nothing at all) they are buying out another theme park company, like Six Flags. OR, they are announcing a brand new theme park!Posted February 26, 2008 at 10:42 PM

Very interested myself. I live in Orlando so I'm hoping for something here. Posted February 27, 2008 at 12:48 AM

I doubt ABE's annoucement will be a park purchase, they sold off the Aurora Property in early 2000 to Six Flags. They haven't built a park in years and have gone the way of Disney in wanting to keep their attraction's open year round. If it's a park building attraction I can almost promise it's an over-seas project, perhaps Asia or Europe but I don't think we'll see one built in the US .If anything I think it'll be the new ride annoucement we've heard rumor of, perhaps a new show in the park since they tend to change those up about every 5-10 years. I also think we'll get an expansion annoucement, people always forget just how much SWO owns land wise! Posted February 27, 2008 at 5:41 AM

Maybe it has something to do with Aquatica at Seaworld and Jungala at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.Posted February 27, 2008 at 7:47 AM I know AAA has been offering ticket specials on Aquatica. I guess we just need to stay tuned...

Maybe a park somewhere else in the world??? I have noticed some blogs indicating maybe a SeaWorld in China!Posted February 27, 2008 at 1:21 PM

They've been talking about opening up parks internationally for a while so that's my guess.Posted February 27, 2008 at 1:48 PM

I think they'll put all their cards on the table. Whatever's potentially brewing in Dubai (or somewhere in that area) will be announced, as well as the hyper for BGT and the flyer for SWO. There's talk of one more new ride being announced for another property (potentially SW in TX), but so far it hasn't got the heat that the Florida coasters have...Posted February 27, 2008 at 4:15 PM

I rather agree with Steve, all the cards are going to put on the table. I think it's going to be a mass annoucement of all the up and coming builds. However with everything I'd be willing to bet they're going to go with someplace like Dubai or China over other places like Japan simply because those areas have nothing like it. If ABE knows anything they know how to move into area's that don't have what they can offer.Posted February 27, 2008 at 8:26 PM

DUBAILAND already has plans for a monstrous waterpark, with marine life, shows and rides, so i dont think it will go there.Posted February 27, 2008 at 9:31 PM

Well, as soon as they announced that they had a representative from Nakheel present, it was obvious it was to build in Dubai.Posted February 28, 2008 at 9:11 AM Doesn't impact me one bit.. Ho-hum. Means more money for the company, so of course it's exciting for THEM. (liked seeing the Killer Whales live, though)

I loved that little show at the end too!!! Totally awesome....I was even doing the "lets go shamu" dance/hand signals.Posted February 28, 2008 at 3:48 PM

I'm rather surprised they didn't address the stuff in the Florida parks. It seemed a little rude since they were, y'know, standing in one of them...Posted February 28, 2008 at 5:22 PM

They will announce the new stuff going on in the parks in the next few weeks. They're going to do it after the grand opening of Aquatica and Jungala.Posted March 2, 2008 at 1:49 PM
