Cedar Point Top 10Cedar Point: What are the Point's best coasters?
From Greg Bark
I may be spending a few days at Cedar Point, and I'm not sure I'll have time for all the coasters. Could I get a list of, say, the best 10?Posted August 3, 2008 at 10:17 PM

Here's my personal top 10 at CP.Posted August 4, 2008 at 8:32 AM 1) Maverick I only gave you 8 because those are the most thrilling to me. I purposely left off Mean Streak because I am not a fan of the how jarring it is. I don't feel that it has aged well. But the drops and turns are fun if you dont mind having a head ache or back ache after. I wouls also recommend checking out MaxAir and SkyHawk. Both really fun flat rides. If you spend more then one day there you should be able to hit almost all the rides.

1) MaverickPosted August 4, 2008 at 9:13 AM 2) Millennium Force 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Mantis 6) Wicked Twister And then the 2 flat rides listed in the above post.

1. MagnumPosted August 4, 2008 at 1:57 PM 2. Millennium 3. Maverick 4. Wicked Twister 5. Raptor 6. Top Thrill Dragster 7. Mantis (by far the best stand-up coaster I've ever ridden...you don't get beaten up like most others) 8. Magnum 9. Magnum 10. Maverick :o] Oh, and if you have time try to ride Magnum...lol. Just be prepared to be slammed into the lap bar on any hill. LOOOOVE the air time!
From Joshua Counsil
To me, Magnum XL-200 is Cedar Point's greatest coaster, bar none. It has the best airtime of any coaster I've ridden. Many of the rest are pretty standard fare.Posted August 5, 2008 at 2:29 PM

I agree! Magnum is probably my favorite re-ride coaster of any other I've ever ridden. You get a lot of great airtime, and the way it pops you out of your seat is just such an awesome sensation. Plus, the lines are usually great during the week and bearable on the weekend. I prefer the front seat as well. The air in the back is outrageous, but the front seat air is great plus you're treated to an amazing view.Posted August 5, 2008 at 8:59 PM

1. Maverick (insane air time)Posted August 6, 2008 at 10:23 AM 2. Millenium Force (my absolute favorite giga-coaster) 3. Top Thrill Dragster (120 mph launch + 420 ft drop = pure awesomeness!) 4. Magnum Xl-200 (a cedar point classic) 5. maXair (always fun even if you ride it 6 times in a row) 6. Power Tower (who doesn't love a good freefall?) 7. Raptor (it's just fun) 8. Skyhawk (great way to dry off after riding Thunder Canyon 3. Thunder Canyon (maybe I was just lucky, but every time I ride I always get soaked! yay!) 10. Mantis (great ride, but a bit rickety on some parts)

FROM BEST TO WORSTPosted December 9, 2008 at 5:57 PM 1. Millennium Force 2. Magnum XL200 3. Top Thrill Dragster 4. Maverick 5. Mean Streak 6. Gemini 7. Raptor 8. Wicked Twister 9. Corkscrew 10. Iron Dragon 11. Blue Streak 12. Disaster Transport 13. Cedar Creek Mine Ride 14. Mantis I was at the point early last June. I went on almost all the coasters. Yet Wildcat was broke down, and the remaining two were kid coasters, so I didn't bother. Best park ever though!

Woodstock express. I havent been on many coasters, so I cant give all good coasters in my top ten. Im going to ride maverick this year, so that will probably be my new number 4.

Here's my favoritesPosted March 27, 2009 at 8:10 PM Millennium Force I'll give Wildcat a close runner up. If you don't know "how to ride", Mantis has a tendency to bang the head a little.

When I was perusing the Point forums last weekend (mwhahahaha!), I noticed a heated debate between fans of Magnum and fans of Millennium Force. Now, it has been about three years since I last visited CP, but Magnum reminded me a lot of the Mamba (at Worlds of Fun) - which is a good thing - but MF was the better ride. Bigger drops, faster, smoother, etc. I am not sure I understand the debate. I agree the rides were similar after a fashion, but if I could only ride one (a popular question on this site lately), it would be MF - no question.Posted March 31, 2009 at 7:12 PM Care to shed some light on the debate?
From Doug Kelley
I last visited CP in June 2008. I can still remember when they built Magnum and waiting in line for over an hour to ride it! I also remember trying to be the last one on the ride before the park closed so I could be one of the last people to leave the park, into the marina where my parents kept a boat for the summer. It's still a great ride and still surprisingly smooth. Now it has the added advantage of very short waits to ride it!Posted March 31, 2009 at 7:32 PM But, no MF is a better ride in every respect. Bigger, faster, steeper, better trains (I like to compare them to sitting in a lawn chair on top of a wagon!), great views and so forth. I love Magnum but MF is better. I really can’t think of one thing that makes Magnum a better ride.

My top ten would be (And I actually HAVE to think about this! HAHA)Posted March 31, 2009 at 8:32 PM 1. Millennium Force I really pretty much hate Top Thrill, and you all may be shocked by that. I'm not a big fan of waiting over an hour for a ride that lasts less than 15 seconds. Not really my favorite. And I hate being beaten around, so Mean Streak is at the bottom. On a side note, Iron Dragon is actually a pretty decent ride, especially the ending part of it, and Woodstock Express is a pretty thrilling ride as a kids ride. It's actually FASTER than the Cedar Creek Mine Ride! LOL
From Doug Kelley
I understand your point about Dragster. I assumed when I rated the coasters I could walk right on and ride. Counting in the line, I'd have to move Dragster down a few pegs, too. But not Millennium!!!Posted March 31, 2009 at 10:07 PM

I was bored because there wasn't any voting going on today. So, I averaged everyone's votes from this thread to see what the consensus is. Each 1st place rank got 10 points, 2nd place got 9 points and so forth down to 1 point for 10th place. A coaster that didn't get a vote received 0 points. Repeat votes by the same person weren't counted and neither were any coasters rated #11 or higher. I didn't count "other" rides (including Disaster Transport) or kiddie coasters.Posted April 1, 2009 at 8:55 PM Here's the breakdown: Millennium Force - 9.2 One person hadn't been on Maverick so it received a zero. If that person had rated Maverick #1 and it got 10 points, MF would still have won 9.2 to 8.9. So, there you go.

1. Millennium ForcePosted April 3, 2009 at 8:17 AM 2. Maverick 3. Magnum XL-200 4. Top Thrill Dragster 5. Raptor 6. Mantis 7. Wicked Twister 8. Gemini 9. Mean Streak 10. Iron Dragon The top two are easy. Magnum, Dragster & Raptor could all be tied for third in my book. They're almost too close to call. Once I've ridden those 5, my day is complete. The rest is just icing on the cake.

1. Millennium ForcePosted April 3, 2009 at 4:44 PM 2. Maverick 3. Top Thrill Dragster 4. Raptor 5. Magnum 6. Wicked Twister 7. Gemini 8. Mantis 9. Wildcat 10. Mean Streak I was debating whether or not to include Mean Streak on the list. If you look past the fact that it is the roughest ride in the park and that it might give you a headache haha its not that bad of a ride. They're doing some work on it so hopefully it will be smoother this year. I was also debating on the #2 spot and whether to put maverick or ttd there. theyre both great rides but i gave the edge to maverick just for the fact that its 7 1/2 times longer than ttd.
