What will the crowd be like Labor Day weekend. I plan to go that Sunday, I figure it will be best?

Last time I went on Labor Day, it was fairly busy. We did not have time to do Darkastle. However, we were able to get on all the coasters (with the exception of Griffon because it was not even built yet.)

I went last year on labor day the longest line we waited for was big bad wolf and that was probably only 20 min. Get there for opening go to griffon and darkastle first before lines start getting crazy all the other coasters should not have long lines and you will prob get multiple rides on them.

Based on the crowds that I have seen for most of the summer, I would anticipate a fairly crowded weekend. Monday should be the lightest day of the 3 day weekend. The only thing that might effect crowds would be a long set-in rain, or extreme heat. Saturday and Sunday will also be the second weekend of Sock Hop nights...the Four Tops, I believe. So far the concerts have been drawing a decent crowd, even on Sundays. I anticipate that trend will continue as well.

Regardless, I hope that you have a fun and enjoyable day. If you want shorter lines, get there early...

OOOOh dear,
I know this not a wdw discussion but we're coming over from the U.K. 19th Aug - 2nd Sept. Are we in for crowds on our last w/end ? Did'nt realise it was a holiday w/end :{ normally we go mad on the last couple of days of our hols in the parks to get our Disney/Uni fix for a year or so. Sorry to hi-jack your discussion :)

I am at BGE all the time. In fact, I have platinum pass there. It has been my experience the past few years that if you go there on the weekend itself (Saturday and Sunday) it is fairly busy for Labor Day weekend.

However, if you are planning to go on Labor Day itself, it has been a relative ghost town compared with the rest of the season. I think the reason for this is the fact that the kids go back to school the following day in our area (I'm a local.), so they are less likely to be there that day as they are preparing for the following day.

Good info, Drew - very true. Granted, notoriously heavy traffic days like Labor Day weekend may warrant a Quick Queue pass to get on each ride at least once without all of the hassle.

At that point, you have to consider how valuable your time is and what your priorities are that day, right?

Hey, Alan, I will probably go to BGE either that Friday, that sunday, or labor day. Heck, I might even go on sunday and labor day! When I went on a saturday in the middle of howl-o-scream, it was PACKED. For almost the whole day, both Alpie and Griffon had lines outside of the waiting ques. But, the length of the walking area inside the que is short, so it takes about 45 minutes to get into a certain line from the starting point at the entrance.

For some reason, I still don't know- what type of ride is darkastle? A spooky-dark ride with good theming, or something else?

Generally the middle day of a three day weekend is the busiest (so Sunday). However the oldies shows are there that weekend, so it could be packed both days.

Thanks for the responses. I am hoping the early crowds will at least be managable. Maybe until about noon.
