New Rain Policy for Cedar Point?

Cedar Point: Is it true Cedar Point closes all its rides when it rains?

A friend of mine recently visited Cedar Point and to his luck it started raining. He told me that all of the rides in the park were shut down until the rain stopped. Not just the coasters but the flat rides too! Can anyone confirm this?

It depends on the severity of the rain. There is a lot of steel at Cedar Point, and water and steel coasters just don't mix. If the rain is light, than most of the rides will usually stay open, but a steady rain will keep many of the rides closed. The covered rides and shows stay open, but many of the rides do temporarily close during the rain.

It's a little extreme to say that they close every thing at the hint of rain, but a rainy day at Cedar Point is not an eventful one.

Actually Cedar Point does a great job in keeping rides open. Most rides will stay open unless there's a thunderstorm or an extended downpour a couple of the rides will close down with a strong wind like skyhawk.
