Busch Gardens Africa: Haunted?

Busch Gardens Tampa: I found a cool story about BGA being haunted.

I found a blog talking about how the Crown Colony House Restaurant at BGA is haunted. It said that the ghost is named Wendy, and she is described as an 8 year old girl. Workers have reported everything from full body apparations to flickering lights. Some even say that at night they can hear an unidentified laughing/giggling noise.

Halloween is getting closer, so I guess this fits the topic perfectly.

Can anyone confirm this or tell us more about it?

Busch is pushing this one with an after-hours media event next week. Here's the release I got yesterday:

Paranormal Researchers to Investigate Legend of Crown Colony House Ghost

Reporters are invited to accompany local Ghost Hunters in
attempt to prove or disprove existence of “Wendy”

On Wednesday, Oct. 8, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay invites area media to join local ghost-hunting group Haunted South Paranormal Research as they investigate the decades-old rumor of a spirit that haunts the park’s Crown Colony House restaurant.

Though most park employees think the legend to be just that, others who have worked in the restaurant firmly believe that the fourth-floor offices and main dining room are haunted by the ghost of an 8-year-old girl named “Wendy.” Park records contain no evidence of who she is or why her spirit would remain at the restaurant, but those who have witnessed Wendy say that she can be heard laughing, sometimes materializes as a “fog” in the dining room, and shows her mischievous side by stopping the elevators between floors.

Haunted South will be bringing in a team of experts to investigate the possibility of a haunting via infrared cameras, electromagnetic field meters, digital voice recorders and a psychic experienced in the field of paranormal phenomena.

Interviews with Busch Gardens employees and the Haunted South team will be available., Participating reporters will be asked to turn off camera lights and refrain from flash photography during certain periods of the evening.

WHEN: 8 to 11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8

WHERE: Crown Colony House Restaurant
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Sounds like fun, but I'm in L.A. and can't get out to the east coast this month, unfortunately.

That would be a blast. Too bad it isn't open to passholders...it'd be worth taking a ride down to Tampa.
