Busch Gardens Williamsburg: I am going to BGE on the 17th and 18th and was wondering if anyone could give me a little detail about the mazes.

I've only seen a couple of trip reports for Howl-o-Scream posted so far...I am going to BGE on the 17th and 18th and was wondering if anyone could give me a little detail about the mazes. How is Masquerage? I went to HOS last year but due to the length of lines, only went through Pompeii and also did the scare zones, the train, and Jack is Back (didn't realize how un-scary those two would be!). Spent the rest of the time on rides. Since there will be a lot more time this year, I intend to do it all! I'd love to hear more about what I'm in for! :)

Are you related to Brittney Spears? Just kidding! Anyway, the mazes are pretty average. The Never After was the best and the scariest followed by Curse of Pompeii, Wicked Woods, then Masquerage. Masquerage was terrible and disappointing. A lot worse than the others and much shorter. I hope you have fun!

I'll be there on the 17th for my very first time to Howl-o-Scream so I'm very interested in info as well!

As Alex said, Never After is the best one. I would do that one first between 6-7pm. If you wait til 8pm or so for that one, the lines will be much longer; maybe 1hr to 2hr wait. Masquerage wasn't that great. Wicked Woods was terrific this year; much better than last year. Pompeii was pretty good this year.
Also, I would recommend seeing the Monster Stomp Revamped show. Have fun!

Thanks for the recommendations! What type of things are inside the Masquerage? Is it just a bunch of people in hooded robes? The concept behind it sounded pretty cool, I'm disappointed to hear that everyone thinks it's pretty lame.

Check out Bgescape for a lot of reviews of HOS.

I was there on Saturday, October 11. I agree that the Never-After is the best maze. Wicked Woods is also very good, though. Masquerage was not quite as good as the other two, but I was not as disappointed as the previous posters. My bad experience was in Curse of Pompeii. At 10:30 p.m. it was deserted...no line, and very few scare actors. It is all about the timing, so I think maybe I just came through when everyone was tired, or on a restroom break, or something like that. It happens...

To the OP...I hope you have a blast next weekend!
