This seems like a simple question, but we've not asked it on the site before, and I know I'd find the results interesting.Posted January 6, 2003 at 9:37 PM So, for *people who have posted on the board before only*, three questions: 1. What theme parks have you been to in your life? Like I said, I want to limit this thread just to folks who've posted here before. That way, we can learn a little more about the perspective the regular posters bring with them to the site. Here're my lists (in no particluar order): 1. Disneyland 2. Busch Gardens Los Angeles 3. Tokyo DisneySea

None; unless you consider the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow; a defunct park that is now simply known as Epcot. 3. Disneyland Paris PS: What do you think of Sea World Ohio? Should it be considered a defunct park, since its name has ceased to exist and now that it is under the wing of Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, really doesn't resmemble a Sea World park all that much? Or should it be considered a park that is still in operation?

In response to Ben's question:Posted January 7, 2003 at 12:01 PM I wanted to pick one park in Japan, one on the European continent, and one in the U.K. Alton got the U.K. slot over Blackpool, because by all reports I've heard its better themed and more of an influence on the other U.K. parks. I almost ditched the idea of a U.K. park, and picked Port Aventura over Alton, but because I'd already visited all of Universal's U.S. parks, I decided to go with something different instead. So my answer's coming more from the perspective of a journalist covering theme parks than of a fan looking for a good time.

My List is monstrous:Posted January 7, 2003 at 12:58 PM I've been to EVERY amusement park on the east coast US, from Maine to Florida, including all rinky-dink parks and parklands in between. I've been to all Universal and Disney Parks (I like to attend opening ceremonies). I've been to most every park in California: from San Diego to the one (now closed) just south of San Francisco. I've been to most of the parks in Chicago, Texas, Cincinnati, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi ... Then I decided to join ACE. I've been to 15 (or so) of the thirty-five Six Flags Parks. I've been to all of the Busch Parks. And I've been to four of the five Paramount Parks. I’m not too much into water parks, but I’ve been to Disney’s, Paramount’s and Busch’s. Defunct parks would be too numerous to list, however, I did get a chance to visit Palisades Park (NJ) before it burnt to the ground and Olde Country (indoor amusement in Chicago--first indoor roller coaster). Parks I would like to visit (if not again):

Which theme parks do I remember going to is more like it.Posted February 11, 2003 at 11:48 AM NUMBER ONE IS A LONG STORY Number 1.) I've been to Great America since I was a little child; back then they had the cable cars taking you over the park from one side of the other. I rode a few of the flat rides but refused to ride the coasters because I was sore afraid of them. I eventually started liking them when I worked there 1998-2000. EPCOT (Center) and Magic Kingdom were the next two parks I met in my life at seven years old. I remember experiencing Small World, Haunted Mansion, Spaceship Earth, Journey Into Imagination, World Of Motion, Horizons, El Rio Del Tiempo, If You Had Wings, and I really freaked out at the Pirates of The Carribbean drop and the train part on the Mr. Toad Wild Ride. I really enjoyed almost all of the above in the meantime. Got bored on 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, even if I hadn't a clue what it was. May of 1995 was the first time I went to WDW in eight years, visiting all three Disney parks along with Universal Studios. November 1995: this is one of my few visits to an indoor theme park called Knott's Camp Snoopy. It is located at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. I thought the Pepsi Ripsaw coaster was thrilling, but compared to today, I've outgrown it big time. July 7, 1996: I went with my parents to Hershey's Chocolate World near Hershey, Pennsylvania. I wanted to see where the Hershey chocolate bars were made. All I got was an alleged show, not the real 'tour' of the real factory. And a 30 minute wait. May 1999: When me and my parents first went to Animal Kingdom together. July 3, 2000: I went to Silver Dollar City near Branson, the Town of Horror -- eh, excuse me, The Town of Country Western and Folk. LOL I thought that park had a terrific variety of rides and shows. I'd really like to go there again someday. Later that year was the first of two visits to IOA in my life, along with most of the other Florida parks (except Sea World). Number 2.) None here in this category. What a coincidence. Number 3.) So far, I'd like to see what Sea World Orlando is like since I haven't been there in 15 years one day. I also like to visit Valleyfair (Shakopee, MN), Paramount's King's Island, Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and Busch Gardens Tampa whenever I could.
