All Universal has announced was Spring of 2009. It is rumored that they want to have it open by Memorial Day.

I noticed that over at Universal Orlando, the time board for Fear Factor has been removed.
Currently the show was closed as its quiet season and it was a good way to reduce operational costs.

Wondering if maybe this is a subtle way to end something that was awful in the first place! Remove stuff bit by bit until no one notices its actually gone, then bring in a new show.

I really hope so!

Anyone know if they'll replace Fear Factor in Orlando as well? A Black Lagoon musical sounds pretty campy, but I've seen Fear Factor once, and that was enough. Not a bad show, but bring on Creature in Orlando!

Universal Studios Orlando still has the Beetlejuice musical show which is getting on in years even though I like this live show. Maybe they will change that. I also saw Fear Factor once and that was more than enough. It even ended early when the hanging cars part had some kind of malfunction.

I'm with Tony and Sylvain on this.

Fear Factor didn't really impress me at all. As they say: once you've seen it then that's it. It isn't a show that makes me want to go time and again.

Beetlejuice is another matter. I know this show has drawn some bad reviews of late. But I still like it. Yes....it needs a tweak here and there to keep it fresh but whenever we visit ( and if it's running ) then we always go.
I'll never forget taking my shy sister-in-law to see it. When B-J came out into the audience and sat next to her and did the routine it was hilarious. I cried laughing at her embarrassment and it set us all up to enjoy the rest of our day at Universal. Now THAT's entertainment !

Rob. As for the Black Lagoon. I don't know anything about the proposed musical but the concept does appeal to me. I think , done properly, it could be a hoot.

The show opens on July 1. All this week there have been rehearsal shows open to guests. Usually two per day. The soft opening in the week of June 28.
