Kings Dominion: Worth a vacation day?

Is Kings Dominion crowded in mid july? and how are the quality of the rides? worth taking a day out of vacation to go?

Weekends are busier and if it is hot the Water Park section will be crowded. I went to the park in July of 2007 on a monday and most of the rides were walk on. Your best bet will be to hit on a weekday. I will say that Kings Dominion is no where as busy as Busch Gardens.

I went to King's Dominion last year in late July, on a friday. The park was pretty full, but not horribly so. DO NOT start with Dominator and then go to Volcano, because those two rides took the first two hours of our day. If you get there on time, run to Volcano and you may catch a quick ride. Volcano and Dominator were 30 minute waits throughout our day, and only ran two trains. Apart from those two, everything else was a walk-on. Dominator and Volcano are walk-ons at night, so lengthen your stay as much as possible. For dinner, I suggest Outer Hank's. Our day was fantastic, and I hope yours is too.
