Is Millenium Force what it's cracked up to be?

Cedar Point: I am going to CP in a week and I wanted to know if Millenium Force is worth while or overraed.

I was really disappointed in Millenium Force being the #1 Coaster. It was somewhat boring to me, but I like rides more aggressive like Top Thrill Dragster and Maverick.

Millennium is definetly what it's cracked up to be. It is awesome and deserves to be number 1. I don't know anyone can call it boring.

Hmm.... I hope we get 90% good responses, I myself am really looking forward to MF, and while the POV doesn't very fun... I'm hope the experience will be.

Just got back from there yesterday.

The Millenium force is arguably the best coaster in the park. The only other one that comes close is Maverick.
This coaster is not overrated at all. This ride should not be missed if going to Cedar Point.

MF,TTD and Maverick are all great rides. But IMO MF is in a class by itself, the view from the lift hill over into Lake Erie, airtime and sustained speed over the entire ride. TTD is great but in reality its over in about 15 seconds. TTD is very impressive to stand under and watch from the bottom of the big hill. Cedar Point has a coaster for every taste. Ride them all, you won't be dissapointed. BTW, someone chime in as to how MF and TTD are at night? I've only been during the day.

I have been on both rides at night, and both are amazing. I would say riding these rides at night makes them at least twice as enjoyable as during the day. I would tip my hat to MF over TTD. I mean TTD is great, for a few seconds. Don't get me wrong, I will ride it as long as the line is short enough.
I will put it this way, I would wait in a longer line for MF then for TTD.

Thanks about the night comments, I figured they were good. I need to try them.

Was just at Cedar Point last week for the first time. Millenium Force is AWESOME ! Not much like it anywhere and I have been everywhere. Top Thrill Dragster is also a real " experience", but having said that it's over in 17 seconds. Maverick is definitely a close third. This park has more thrills and great roller coaster rides than any U.S park

Don't forget Raptor, people. Thats a great coaster too. As for night rides, Millennium gives the best one, and it's even better during Halloweekends when there's fog covering the layout.

Yes, Millennium Force is super-amazing-sweet, but one thing that would make it even better is airtime on the two hills side by side. Just lowering those hills by, idk, 35 feet or so would give you a nice pop of air. What could also be done to increase airtime is to have a less rounded crest on the hills, like a B&M Hyper ( http://www.kidiamondback.com/_upload/photo_gallery/construction/Diamondback%20012109%20040.jpg ). Still, I love MF and it is my #1 coaster.

It depends on what you like in a coaster. If you're all about height & speed, then Millie is for you. If you prefer airtime and lots of different elements, you'll be less than impressed.
I definitely enjoy Millennium, but I'd much rather spend my time waiting for a coaster that's going to throw me out of my seat and shake me up a little bit [hence my preference for Magnum, Maverick, Blue Streak, Diamondback, etc...].

I did go on the MF and though it wasn't a dissappointment I thought that magnum xl-200 was better. But they were both awesome and when I go in a week um riding them both again! To everyone: top five coasters(in my opinion) 1. Magnum 2. MF 3. maverick 4. Raptor 5. Wicked twister

I just got back from a big end of summer trip and hit several parks. I need to hit Bizzaro(SFNE), Behemoth and Ride of Steel at Darien, but after than I will have hit all of the 200+ footers out there (TTD and KKA included, not counting the new Intimidators). This is just all opinion and it depends on what you like, but I still think MF is the best. Nitro and El Toro are both excellent (El Toro rocks), and Diamondback is very good. Steel Force is not as good as Apollo, and Phantom is somewhere in the mix. Maverick is a lot of fun, I just hate the concussion factor and the 1:45 min waits, even with 4-5 trains running.

You've got to remember that it's all good, and we've got some game changing iron in the two Intimidators next year.

BTW, as a side note, out of the 10 parks I did in 10 days, Hershey was the nicest suprise and overall a very nice park, and FH and Storm are worth looking into.
