Is The Son of Beast done??Kings Island: Any word on why Cedar Fair is keeping SOB closed for the rest of the year when it was cleared? Will it ever open again?
From Randy CloverIs this the end for The Son of Beast? With the ride being cleared, King's Island is keeping it closed for the remainder of the season. This coupled with the fact they are selling SOB merchandise for extremely cheap prices lead me to believe that SOB might have been slain.

I also heard some CM talking that the maintenance costs are getting too high, which for Cedar Fair is the precursor to the wrecking ball.
Anyone have any other info?

From Derek PotterSOB recently cleared the inspection, so not sure. There's only two weeks left in the season before weekends only, so don't really know. I have to believe that Cedar Fair is looking long and hard at SOB and at least thinking about how much longer they will be keeping it around. When you think about how much down time this coaster has had the past few years, it makes you wonder how many seasons the ride has left.
