Well I live in Orlando so can't speak for staying, but Wilderness Lodge to me is just a beautiful hotel. Love Artist Pointe as well to eat.

As for off site, I'll go with Gaylord Palms, just a outstanding hotel inside, yet still haven't gotten to eat there to say on food.

Offsite: Sheraton Vistana Resort. Beautiful pool, beautiful landscaping, beautiful resort.

Onsite: Beach Club. Can't beat the access to Epcot, Stormalong Bay, and Beaches & Cream. It is a great deal if they bring back the buy 4 get 7 offer.

I think a lot depends on everyone traveling with you! My suggestion would be rental property. Single family or multiple.

I have stayed onsite at Disney and yes service is excellent. I have found that for the money, if you are a non-local, and traveling from a distance, rent a home or condo. Sure, you have to make your own meals and you may be a bit farther from the parks if you do not decide correctly.

I have stayed at Fermosa Gardens Estates for most of my last visits. Whether or not with single family or mutiple family members. Windsor Hills rentals is nice also.

Both of these rental communities offers differnet things, but if you have a rental car and are willing to feel like home, these are my suggestions for best bets!

Both locations are approx. 1.2 miles from the Animal Kingdom Park, then know you are just within short miles of Disney World park drives. Keep in mind that if you have a park hopper pass, then once you pay for parking at one park for that day, then you get parking at all parks for that day! Yes, you can park at any park with a same day parking ticket.

This works well for me and I use it everytime I visit. Almost once every year.

Contemporary is my favorite Deluxe. Port Orlens French Quarter for moderate. And all star movies for value. But i have to say for Deluxe i also enjoy wilderness lodge and animal kingdom lodge as well.

Only onsite stay at WDW has so far been the Grand Floridian. It's a wonderful experience..........but not easy on the pocket.
Offsite we usually stay near to Downtown Disney in one of the Plaza Blvd Hotels.
The pick of the bunch there has been the Buena Vista Palace which is just over the road from Dowtown Disney's Bus Station.

For offsite I loved Gaylord Palms. It was a well themed hotel! I went there when I was younger and I still remember it like it was yesterday, it was themed to the Everglades in one section and St. Augustine in another.

I feel the best place to stay is Port Orleans-Riverside. It is a moderate resort. It has everything anyone would want. Check it out at disney.com.

I don't know, I have only stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, but while doing massive research for a 2010 Florida Trip, I was split between The Grand Floridian and Loews Portofino Bay Resort. Though after considering the free Express Pass, the onsite benifits, and the feel of the hotel resort, Portofino just had to win. Especially since Potter will drive way to many crowds to just try to wait in the normal line.

I get a government discount at the Swan n Dolphin. It is the best discount on property. They also offer other discounts such as teachers or nurses. Great location (easy walk to Epcot and the Studios), great hotels, and you are at the boardwalk for extra entertainment. I get stuck st ESPN and the dueling pianos. The only odd thing is the hotels hold conventions (MLB holds there convention there every year), so there are many people in suits and ties and I'm in shorts and a tee shirt.

My favorite is definitely POP Century. I LOVE seeing all the classic stuff and huge statues. I know that some of the other hotels have big statues but this remains my fav.

Contemporary!!! You just can't beat the monorail right there in the building or the walkway to the Magic Kingdom.

My family normaly stay in a villa in Kissimee but in 2007 . Me and my wife stayed at Disney's Carribean beach resort . It had the Carribean feel to it , and it was quiet and relaxing . WE both really enjoyed the resort and the facilities . But if I was going with our little boy , and was looking for the whole Disney experience . It would'nt be the resort We would take him . But on the flip side if you want to relax between the madness , this is the ideal plaice to stay

You didn't think Carribean Beach was Disney Enough? Thats an interesting take. I will agree, it is relaxing!

I am not sure if I mentioned it before, but my new Disney Resort love is the Boardwalk which, in my opinion has the best mix of everything vs the rest of the resorts: food, location, entertainment!

I think if I went to stay at Disney again . I would like to stay there . Ive heard many good report's on Boardwalk . Anthony im not knocking Carribean beach , but for my little boys first resort stay I would prefer it to have that really great disney feel . As Carribean beach is what it sais on the tin Carribean . The main pool with the castle was great for kid's and the boating looked very good . But it just seemed to miss somthing .
