HHN 19 Express PassUniversal Orlando: We are going to HHN 19 next Thursday (10-15). Should I buy an HHN express pass before we go or wait and see what the crowd is like when we get there?
From Randy Scott
Last year I bought EP's for HHN with our HHN tickets online and really did not need them. A colossal waste of money! I'm getting the "Stay and Play" tickets this year and need advice for the HHN express passes. BTW we are not FL residents or even close so we pay full price. Bummer.Posted October 7, 2009 at 7:16 PM

Over the past couple of weeks Thursday nights have been pretty steady. The wait times for houses has ranged from 10 minutes up to around 80 minutes for the more popular houses.Posted October 8, 2009 at 11:49 AM IF, you plan on going only one night then the Express Pass may be worthwhile if you want to visit every attraction, but, if you can be in the door at 6 and don't mind a couple of hours of non stop thrills, then you may be able to skip it. Work around the park clockwise, hitting each house one after the other and it will be achievable, even timing the Bill and Ted show and the Rocky Horror Tribute show. It does get busy quickly though, so hit as many as you can in the first hour and hit the shows last. Also, print off the online park map and plan your route first. It will save you time, and if not selecting the Express Pass, money!

We are staying on-site this year. Last year we were at Disney WL so no stay and play. This year we we are getting the stay and play. Only problem with that is that you get through most of HHN when it is still light out. Not very scary. I will probably get the EP just because I have soooo much money already spent on the vacation. No sense in cheaping out now. But we did not really use the EP's last year.Posted October 8, 2009 at 2:50 PM

By the way Gareth, thanks for the additional tips. I'm printing the HHN map right now. Bill and Ted's early or later? Any advice? Plus not real big on the whole Rocky Horror thing, oldy and moldy to me.Posted October 8, 2009 at 3:05 PM

Bill and Ted got really popular, for me its the best attraction there.Posted October 8, 2009 at 3:11 PM If you are going to see it, which I suggest you so, hit the very first, or very last show. The ones in the middle are extremely busy and if you arrive too late you'll get turned away as it gets to capacity. Often I've seen them start the show 5-10 minutes early when it hits capacity. Regarding seating, get center seats, too far to the left and right and you'll miss out of stuff. Dead center lets you see everything, and the closer the better. Also, if you can get an Aisle seat, you've more chance of being involved as the actors run up and down the Aisles towards the end of the show. I've been sat on, danced with and kissed more times than I can remember, over the past 5 years. Definately fun! Enjoy :)

10/15/2009 HHN 19 Report:Posted October 20, 2009 at 3:53 PM These are my observations/coments for HHN 10/15/09. We had the "Stay and Play" passes for HHN 19 and the "Express Passes". We were at Universal Studios (US) and went to the lock down area (street in front of Finnegans) We ate at Finnegans during the lock-down, very good meal and beer. It was raining while we ate so this was a very good place to be. When HHN opened it had stopped raining. We went to Wolfman, Frankenstein and Dracula first. Dracula was very cool but the other two were just okay. The Scare Zones were alright. Lot's of smoke but nothing really new or scary. Chucky was a joke. Leave It To Cleaver was a total waste of time. The "Stage" house and the lizard house were also very lame. Once again, Bill and Ted's show was the best thing going. It was seriously funny and without the politics of last year. HHN, in my opinion, needs to be in IOA. IOA has the perfect set-up for HHN. The last HHN that we liked was solely at HHN (13? maybe). Just my thoughts.

We went to HHN on Sat. We were at the park and stayed toward the front of the park during lock-down. In front of the pasty shop. Noone even checked to see if we had a ticket. Could of maybe saved a few bucks. Hit 4 of the Haunted houses with no more then a 15min wait. Then it got really crowded. 75 till 90min waits for the last 4. Dracula was by far the best of the houses. I also liked the ripped from the screen house. Scare Zones were fun but it was a chilly and windy night and the fog was blowing away and it didn't have that hard to see scary feeling. But the make-up and costumes were awesome once again. Bill n Ted show was 10x better than last year. We usually go first weekend in oct. and wish we would of this year. There were way to many people there. Wasn't easy getting from Mels to ET.But still a blast. Can't wait till 2010.Posted October 20, 2009 at 6:25 PM

Brady and friends,Posted October 27, 2009 at 7:31 PM I think that 10-17-2009 (SAT) was the coldest I have ever been in FL. Not only coooooold but very wiiiiindy too. Get this, I grew up in Michigan and it was still cold! It was if the entire globe and weather pattern were working in concert to make Al Gore look like the buffoon that he really is. I guess this is why the call it "climate change" now. Global Warming just ain't making the "dollar, dollar bills y'all" anymore. Cold Happens and always has!

In regards to Randy's comments about HHN being at IOA, I say have them at both parks every year. I think the event has gotten popular enough to warrant it and it would help with any overcrowding issues and perhaps take it back to the early days when it wasn't so hectic and more fun for it. I personally think it belongs at USF if anywhere, but like Randy, I'm sure there are an equal legion who feel the opposite. So make both groups happy. But keep Bill & Ted at it's true home, the Wild West Pavilion. ;)Posted November 4, 2009 at 6:00 PM
