Universal Studios Hollywood: It seems that USH website has taken off Creature from it drop down Menu of things in the park
Is Creature Gone For Good I have also heard the Castle maybe gutted of all props from that show I for one hope it's gone
Yeah its gone. Personally i thought it was decent but i totally understand the removal of the show. I really hope they put something worthwhile in the castle theater. I remember Beetlejuice was the last show that i really enjoyed there.
Was this the quickest opening/closing you have seen of at attraction at USH after all it opened July 1st 2009
Yeah it has got to be the quickest. it lasted maybe 2-3 months. As for what's going to replace it? i dont know but hopefully Universal really puts some thought into it and comes up with an idea better than an edgy musical based on a 1950's horror movie.
Rumor has it that something like the sound effects stages show might go in there
Yeah maybe something along the lines of the make-up show in Orlando. That show is funny, educational, and entertaining and a surprise hit among visitors. I also imagine it won't cost as much Creature to put on as it only needs 2 stage performers(one of them is the make-up artist and it shouldn't be hard to find one in LA), and there aren't any elaborate set pieces. Universal has struck out three times in this theater recently so this is a low risk option they can do.
A new show is being put in by Thinkwell. The word is it will be something along the lines of the Special Effects show like Joseph said.
Any Word on when this show might open
Hopefully they take their time to put in this new replacement show. Although with Backdraft and Special Effects Stages closing in April they may need this attraction ready for the Summer. Lets hope for a show that finds more of an audience than Creature.
The new show is scheduled to open in late june/early July
