Kings Dominion: I was wondering what the best way to avoid the really heavy lines at Kings Dominion on a Saturday. Is it better to go early or go like around 3 and stay til closing at 10?
I was wondering what the best way to avoid the really heavy lines at Kings Dominion on a Saturday. Is it better to go early or go like around 3 and stay til closing at 10? I feel like people want to rush in at 10 and ride all the rides and get bored by 6?

Best way to avoid lines at KD is don't go on a Saturday. But, if u don't have any choice, the park tends to empty out in the late evening after 6pm or so.

First, realize that KD often opens the main street area and Dominator 30 minutes before the rest of the park. Secondly, make sure to ride Volcano and Flight of Fear (if you must) first thing in the morning as they are both popular slow loaders. Third, cut out of the park during the hottest part of the day (1 - 4) to get a nice lunch and maybe even take a swim at your hotel (if you are visiting from out of town). Finally, the last hour of the day is your best chance for re-rides on your favorites (Volcano) as the crowds do start to thin out at that point.
