Lets jump across the country to California. Specifically, Disneyland Park. Tell us you dream Disneyland park. Some people complain about various things like a dull tomorowland. Others think it's perfact. Every theme park has it's flaws. Have at it:

Guess some of the popularity of these threads wore off.

Heres my Disneyland:

Main Street USA- Pretty much perfect. Glad to see the sleeping beauty Walkthrough back and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

Adventureland- As with MK, Id love to see Fire Mountain come here. Festival of the Lion King would also make a good addition.

New Orlens Square- Definately a Princess and the Frog Ride and restaurant are needed here!

Frontierland- I'd like to see Western River Expedition come here, it would be great for this barren land.

Critter Country- Nothing.

Fantasyland- I'd like to see the Beauty and the Beast Restaurant come here! Not much can be implemented from the MK Fantasyland ideas.

Toontown- Nothing

Tomorrowland- I'd like to see Mission Space brought here. It would work well. I want to see Captain EO stay for a bit. The Flying Saucers and Carousel of Progress should come back here.

As you can see, this is a little less drastic than the MK idea. Theres not much changing in Disneyland because I'd like to see the classics stay. Stuff from Epcot. DHS, and AK is all molded into this park because it doesn't have those parks. Can we start DCA on this thread or should we start a new one? I'd like to voice what I think could be better in the DCA expansion.

Main Street - no real problem
Tomorrowland - updated star tours, bring back the people mover, Imagineering...bring back carousel of progress or America sings (both are better), I like the idea of bringing back the flying saucers, loved them.
I would love to bring back the sky buckets! Smooth out the Matterhorn I think it could do with an overhaul.
Toontown can go…maybe Everest or some other really good WDW ride.

*No strollers allowed. Your kids must walk or you can carry them.
*All food prices are lowered by $3.
*The new bride is taken out of The Haunted Mansion and restored to the original with glowing eyes and heart.
*Star Tours will stay the same.
*Captain EO stays and Honey, I Shrunk the Audience is BANISHED from Tomorrowland.
*Alien Encounter is added.
*The People-Mover returns.
*Disneyland will let me go up into the creepy old loading dock for the sky buckets (by Casey Jr.) and see what they're hiding in there (haha).
*Fort Wilderness is re-opened, with idiot-proof safety notices (like 'Don't stick your pudgy finger in the fake guns because it may get stuck').
*Jack Sparrow and all movie references are taken out of Pirates of the Caribbean (except for the music playing during the ship battle scene).
*The Country Bears take back their rightful territory in Critter Country.
*The Jambalaya Jazz Band and Queenie release a CD to be sold in the park.

Just to name a few...

main street: put lincoln back how he was, with the headphones (i always loved that part). bring back the ice cream parlor that had sundaes based on rides.

fantasyland: single cars on matterhorn, smooth out the track (and figure out a way to keep up the quick loading with the single cars). a nice place to eat. repaint small world in different colors like it was ten years ago or so. revive the sky buckets. redo the script on storybrook boats.

tomorrowland: bring back the people mover, or find some way to revamp the rocket rods. the empty track looks depressing.

adventureland: tarzan's treehouse back to swiss family robinson, or find a new overlay. use the aladdin's oasis area for a dinner and a show type thing, maybe bring back the polynesian dancers there.

frontierland: fix tom sawyer island, bring back the fort and set the cabin back on fire. get rid of the pirates and touch up the play areas. bring the golden horsehoe revue back.

critter country: find a place for the bears to come back. i like pooh so leave him there, but the country bears belong too.

new orleans: take davy jones out of pirates. i can stand jack sparrow, but davy jones doesn't tie in to the new story they are trying to tell. plus i really like the pirate voice over 'perhaps ye knows too much!' also take out the new bride in mansion, she messes up the storyline. the bride is supposed to be the victim. add a restaurant for tiana.

toontown: retheme gadgets go coaster to a character kids actually know anymore. make chip and dale's treehouse a little bigger so parents can fit, and make it more interactive like minnie's house.

bring back a version of the remember dream's come true fireworks with julie andrews.

We visited Disneyland yesterday with our 8 year old daughter (her first time). Her experience was much different than my first experience 30 years ago, when Disneyland lived up to it's slogan "The happiest place on earth." It has become so overstimulating and the use of monsters and scary dark beings on many of the rides left us feeling very uneasy. I still love the old rides that opened in Walt's time but I feel he would not at all be happy with the current experience. In my perfect Disneyland there would be new rides that left me feeling uplifted, happy, inspired, rather than scared, overstimulated, nauseous. There is so much goodness and beauty in our world, why not focus some on that rather than scariness and ugliness. Perhaps that is what Americans are seeking when they visit a theme park, but I wish that were not so. My daughter was so happy to enter Sleeping Beauty's Castle, but ran out of it terrified at what she saw. We all really appreciated It's a Small World and would love to see more of that type of thing. Also, restore the Haunted House and Pirates of the Carribean to what they used to be. The Haunted House was so loud with so many things coming at you from this way and that, I can scarcely remember what I saw in there, it was just too much. Also, instead of scary ugly beings in Space Mountain, they could simulate the northern lights and all the planets or beautiful intergalactic beings, why does everything have to be so ugly?

because it's halloween time? That explains space mountian ghost galaxy, and the different haunted mansion. But they are ususally pretty similar to thier original form. Can your daughter watch disney movies? Because pretty much everyone has an ugly villain, and villains are a huge part of disney story telling. I love disney land the way it is, and especially like the combination of old and new, but as far as non-dark,ugly rides, I'd say pirates, jungle cruise, thunder mountian, matterhorn(If you dont consider the yeti to be scary), small world, buzz lightyear, nemo, peter pan, alice, casey jr, dumbo, roger rabbit, autopia, splash mountian is pretty happy for the most part, and a bunch of others if you include DCA.

As far as my dream disneyland, another gate would be nice. what about disney earth, or disneyglobal? It could be sort of like all the countries in epcot, but with more area to each country, and more actual rides in each. They could also in clude expedition everest, and journey to the center of the earth would fit in too. Plus a handful of unique rides and attractions.

Katie, as Jay said, it's Halloween time. Many rides(haunted mansion and spacemountain in particular get re-themed to match Halloween. Sleeping beauty has some dark things like the dragon but i haven't seen the walk through. Next time try going not during halloween. Try Christmas(but the haunted mansion will be how it was on your visit).

you really should visit again when its not halloween time. especiallly for space mountain, the non halloween version DOES leave me happy and uplifted at the end. as for haunted mansion, the usual version is supposed to have a creepy atmosphere so i'm not sure about your expectations for that one

^^As everyone has said, what do you expect during Halloween? You surely didn't miss all of the Halloween decorations and billboards and advertisements EVERYWHERE that Disneyland is now all "Halloween-ified". So obviously they redo a bunch of the rides to be scary. Space Mountain and The Haunted Mansion are both rethemed and will be back to normal when not Halloween.
