I went to Busch Gardens Tampa on Nov. 20 for an afternoon visit and looked over the new Cheetah Hunt construction and did 3 coaster rides after seeing the Christmas on Ice show. The Ice show was very entertaining, about 30 minutes long, and had about 8 songs. However, the show was almost the same as last year except for a new female feature skater and new acrobat skater. This was the first day of this show and only the second performance but everyone looked well practiced.Posted November 20, 2010 at 9:02 PM Then I did a clockwise walk and rode Sheikra from the front row and left side end seat. First time in front row, all previous rides were 2nd and 3rd rows. I have to admit that the front row is MUCH better and the end seat was extra good. Next up was Kumba, very good fast ride and there was no real line. I went next to Scorpion, a small older steel coaster but they were slow, running only 1 car and it closed down while I was in line for 20 minutes. I hate that. Last coaster was Montu, a hanging top rail coaster that is really good. It is long and when you think it is over, part 2 starts and gives you a great ending. I looked over the Cheetah Hunt site from both ends and saw that they were only doing ground work, digging trenches, pouring concrete, remodeling the old monorail building. There was no actual coaster steel visible on site yet and no support towers constructed. They have a trench being built in what was once the walkway in front of the Clydesdale hamlet. I thought that was different. It seems like the coaster path will be within the pedestrian areas of the park. This will be a real in-your-face coaster from what I saw. Can't wait.

I just openned a Flickr account and put a photo of the south end of the Cheetah Hunt construction as a test photo.Posted November 22, 2010 at 4:45 PM http://www.flickr.com/photos/hydrotony/5199989892/ Let's see if I did it right.

Your photo makes me so excited for the new coaster. Hmmm, but maybe that pathway could be for a better interactice walkthrough the cheetah exhibit (not the coaster) similar to the pathways around the Jungala tigers. (maybe?)Posted November 23, 2010 at 12:22 PM

Good, the photo link worked.Posted November 23, 2010 at 3:47 PM The below ground path is right at the edge of what was the Clydesdale yard where people walked, if live Cheetahs are there, oh my. I added more photos and I hope this gets you there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/hydrotony/sets/72157625455833666/
