I am making my first trip in many years to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. I will be going on opening day March 26th. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of crowds to expect

The crowds aren't bad at all. Here in Virginia the tourist industry doesn't really gear up for the summer until after memorial day. The only week that tends to be busy before then is the week before easter. Remember to bring a light jacket as the park is essentially in a narrow valley and it is shady and windy at times.
I am not sure when the previous poster has been to Busch Gardens, but opening weekend can be quite busy, especially Saturday. There were even several occasions last year where they had to deny entry on Saturdays coz the park got too crowded. Since March 26 is opening day, unless you are a season pass holder, then you can visit on March 19, I recommend going early, as in get to the park when it opens. By mid afternoon, the park will be packed.
BTW, Kings Dominion is only an hour up the road and opens on April 2 with the newly reprofiled I-305. Come visit us.
