Disneyland California and tsunamis
Disneyland: How safe is Disneyland if a tsunami hits L.A.?
Disneyland is close to the ocean. If a tsunami like the one in Japan ever hits L.A., will the water get into the park?
Disneyland is about five miles inland from the coast, and stands at about 150 foot elevation.
It would take a gruesome tsunami to reach that distance and elevation, so I think Disneyland's safe from any such threat.
According to experts, if the coast of Southern California is hit by an earthquake of magnitude 8.9, the tsunami wave would be between 20 and 30 foot in height, and the tsunami would go 2 miles inland. So, according to your numbers Robert, Disneyland is safe :)
I highly doubt that Disneyland is in danger. The waves are not THAT big!
Something tells me that whatever caused that kind of tsunami might be a bigger concern for Disneyland and Southern California.
