Two words: Anton Schwarzkopf. The man designed some great coasters, and Scorpion is a prime example. It packs a great little punch. It's also one of the rare coasters that has a loop with just a lapbar. It's the hidden gem at Busch Gardens Tampa. It's not necessarily better than any of the bigger coasters, but it does its job admirably.

The better question would be Why WOULDN'T you ride it? The waits are rarely that long so it's not like riding the coaster would be some sort of massive inconvenience.

The only disappointment on my sole visit to BGT in '08 was not getting to ride Scorpion. I believe it was closed for a paint job. I may be wrong on the reason, but according to my friend that joined me (a BG regular) it was an extended closure.

Was my first looping coaster, so it has a special place in my heart. Good ride that you should ride atleast once.
