Spiderman upgradesUniversal Orlando: Anyone hear about new 3D glasses?
From N B
I just read that Spiderman closed on Feb 8th for it's 4K projection upgrade. Universal also hinted at the use of all new 3D glasses.Posted February 15, 2012 at 12:29 PM I am hoping they will start using the polarized Dolby 3D glasses that have dichroic coatings on the leses. The nice thing about them is they enhance contrast and have slightly curved lenses that help enhance the 3D effect, similar to the curved screen on the Simpsons Ride. These also come with anti-theft chips installed, which will keep them at the ride where they belong.

I can't speak for Dom's Universal facts, but he's right about the cost of the Star Tours glasses. They ain't cheap.Posted February 15, 2012 at 3:09 PM

Please return the 3-d glasses when finishing Spiderman. They cost $10 each and Universal is going to great lengths to keep them from leaving property.Posted May 4, 2012 at 1:28 PM

When I rode Spiderman Sunday, they had a sign that said something like this:Posted May 4, 2012 at 7:40 PM WARNING: All glasses are tracked and cannot leave the building. Please put them in the bins provided while exiting.

I agree Potter Team Member. By the way, there was a girl named Lawshawna working FJ last time we were there. I wrote an email to Universal customer service about her.Posted May 5, 2012 at 1:17 AM And yes, the email was very positive. She made our final ride a memorable one and I let them know she took care of us like rock stars.
