Disney will be testing Fastpasses from 3/1/12 to 3/24/12 for reserved viewing areas of the night time shows, Wishes, Electrical Parade & Memories (reported by Orlando Park News). What's your opinions on this?

This I am against. First, I don't see a need. Second, I don't see the need and third what's wrong with camping out to get a good spot. I often just walk up minutes before any night time event and get good views without trouble.

Skipper, could you share with us how to do that? Every time we plan carefully to find the right spot, get there plenty early and claim enough room to be comfortable but not take more room than we should, we end up with a group of rude Brazilian kids who pretend to not know English and who either brazenly stand in front of us or sit next to us, then invite all their friends to sit next to them, shoving the four of us into a four-foot wide crush. Once we were standing behind a group of obviously handicapped people in electric scooters, figuring that it would be a safe location. It was not a handicapped section, but they were camped out where they should have been to be in the front of the crowd, and they have several non-handicapped children sitting in front of their scooters. We thought that this was the perfect location. A group of 6'2" adults decided to move in front of this group, so that they could be in front, and stood the entire time. Apparently they were also deaf, because they ignored everyone behind them asking nicely (at first) then yelling angrily at them to move. Fastpass? Heck, yea! I'd pay to have a good seat to see a parade at any Disney park, but it hasn't happened yet. Too many rude, uncaring people. Maybe I'll go to Tokyo, where everyone sits to watch the parades.
I've realized that I'll just have to watch the parades on YouTube. Skipper, tell me how they are in person- I can't ever see them.

I'm not gonna lie, I usually walk up in Frontierland and watch it there. Liberty Square is a packed corner (I used to work parades there before Main Stree Ops took it over) and recommend Main St. or Frontierland. People have a certain nostalgia of watching parades on MS, so Fronterland is your best bet, especially if you find your way into a shop and get a decent spot on the wooden sidewalk. I also go to the second parade, and I tend to go on the least busiest days of the week.

Another secret is the walkway from Liberty Square to the Castle offers fantastic views from a distance that are pretty clear and not too far.

I don't, however, have kids to deal with, nor large groups most of the time. I also have the choice to see it often as I can, like locals, and elect to pass on seeing it on crowded days.

I'm too easily bored to camp out for any of it, but it would be nice to see the parades. I've seen Wishes, but only from the restaurants around the MK area. I paid extra for the desserts party at Fantasmic! in DL (the desserts were terrible) to see the show, so I would almost definitely do it if it was free.
