For an upcoming trip with a baby who can't do most rides, what attractions have a child swap option? If they do, can you tell any experiences with them?

I am 99% sure that every ride except P-Fliers and Fievel's waterslide should have child swap. Those two don't because they are geared towards smaller kids anyway. Some rides may not have the nicest child swap waiting areas but all the rides should have that policy.

Thanks Amy, do you know which ones don't have very nice child swap areas? Also, on rides where there are separate boarding and exiting areas, how does it work?

MIB is torturing the kids by showing them how to use the gun on the ride. Like a kid wants to look at that.

David, the child swap is actually pretty easy. Just let them know when you reach the end of the line that you are going to use the child swap and they will help guide you. Don't worry if the exit is seperate from the boarding area. The child swap is usually between the two and is easy to see from both areas. If you get confused, ask an employee. But it shouldn't happen. Universal does a great job with their child swap areas.

My daughter loved the child swap area on the Forbidden Journey because they had bigscreen TVs showing the first Harry Potter movie. She didn't even realize there was a ride. She tells her friends she walked through Hogwarts and then got to watch the Harry Potter movie!

We love child swap. My daughter is a few inches too short still for some stuff, but have been using it for going on 11 years! :) Just talk to the guy at the front of the line & tell him you want to child swap. Some will send you in the fastpass line then when it's your turn to get on, will send the waiting people to the room *some have a/c* :) Others will let you stand in line together then shoot you into the room when it gets close. The Rip Rock It *if you do the Studio side* gives you a ticket, they have the child & adult go around this back way & up an elevator to a room with a big window to watch the loading, while others wait in line. Plus there is a balcony that my daughter loves to go out on & watch when she sees us get on the coaster because you can watch them come around the building. At any rate, child swap is really easy & fun.

Do you know if Universal Hollywood and Disneyland California also have child swap?

All Disney rides have child swap for rides with height restrictions. The rules are that it is only for children not tall enough to ride. But it's tricky at Disney, not all rides work the same with child swap so ask the person outside.
