Busch Gardens on a Sunday mid-August?
Busch Gardens Tampa: How crowded will it be?
How crowded will Busch Gardens be on a Sunday in mid to late August? Will we get anything done? We are rope drop type people and usually this works for us in beating the crowds....will this work at Busch Gardens? We are planning on going August 19th but will juggle things around if the advice is that it will be too crazy that day.

Went there last year around that time, crowds were good sized, not too huge though. I think our longest wait was for Griffon, about 30 minutes or so. Just be warned, it can get pretty darn hot
I agree with Rob.
Mike: I am laughing so hard.....You bring a lot of welcome levity to the site. ............Actually, what happened was that I misread the post. I saw Griffon in the other post and just assumed it was BGW. I gave an answer for Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Once I found my mistake I edited it....
^^Just doing my job, man.
I should have been more specific and said Busch Gardens Tampa. Does anyone have any info on this park for me? Any advice is welcome.

Holy crap, I totally missed the boat, I was like 'OMG SOMETHING I CAN POST ON NOT MARVEL RELATED!' (seriously, I think in all caps, my head is weird) and missed the 'Tampa' part of it all. So, to REALLY answer the question, I got no clue, never been there in August. Too darn hot, and I don't adjust to that kind of heat easily. Sorry for any confusion brought up by my sillyness.
I always visit BGT around this time of year! Crowds really aren't too bad - longest queues of the day are always for Sheikra (30-40 mins) and the river rapids (30 mins). The rest are usually a walk on or 5 minute wait. Last year, Cheetah Chase was about an hour queue, however, the attraction was relatively new and kept breaking down all day. Don't know if that has changed recently. You will have a great day - queues are totally manageable.
Thanks. I really appreciate the input. I want to spend two days at Busch Gardens and it looks like it is unavoidable for one of those to be on a Sunday. I visited there two years ago and only did one day but I missed so much. We did all of the coasters (never riding Gwazi again!) but missed out on most of the shows. We can't wait to get back there and try it again!
Anita, I might be mistaken, but I believe Gwazi has received new trains since my only visit in 2008, maybe since your previous one. I've heard they do provide a better ride.
Mike, when I rode it two years ago, I thought my head was going to rattle off! I'm sure it's great fun for a lot of people (the line up for it was long) however, I don't think I'd do it again. I love the big coasters though. Sheikra was the best!
Yeah, Sheikra was my fave at Tampa. Most seem to prefer its cousin in Williamsburg, but Griffon disappointed me.
