Penguin Encounter closed, so where are the penguins?

Sea World Orlando: Just wondering if you can still see Penguins at Sea World...

Was just curious about something. I see on the Sea World website that Penguin Encounter is currently closed, I guess in preperation for the new Antarctica ride. Did they move any of the Penguins somewhere else temporarily, or can you just not see Penguins in Sea World until the new attraction opens. Just wondering, as the penguins are easily my wife and I's favorite thing to see at Sea World.

Sea World Entertainment has separate holding facilities away from the parks for a lot of their animals. During the winter our Busch Gardens in Williamsburg gets a few penguins from the facility.

I don't think you can see a large scale penguin attraction of any sort at Sea World Orlando right now. However, the parks are good at setting up interim temporary venues for animals. They do it all the time here. To me, that would probably be the best you are going to get.

When I was at SeaWorld two weeks ago, I heard one store clerk tell a guest that the penguins were "on vacation" at the San Antonio park until the new attraction is complete. I didn't notice any sort of small penguin display so you may have to wait until Antarctica is finished before you can see any :-(
