Ideas for an Avatar RideWalt Disney World: How to translate the movie into a ride?
From Daniel Etcheberry
Maybe Disney could use a similar ride system as Forbidden Journey and make it move it through the Pandora jungle; it would have AAs. Posted June 27, 2012 at 7:59 AM A Soarin type of ride could be another option. Who knows, maybe in 5 years Disney will have the technology to take us to our own Avatars!

In 5 years maybe we'll find out what's going into AK instead of Avatar..... ;-)) hahaha oh yeah, I went there!Posted June 27, 2012 at 8:16 AM

We know a flight attraction is coming, and Disney was just testing a flying dragon, so that could be a sign.Posted June 27, 2012 at 11:51 AM

Soarin is Cameron's favorite ride, but I think the flying dragon has something to do with a ride.Posted June 27, 2012 at 11:58 AM

Avatar does not mix with Animal Kingdom, except the conservation message. Either sell the rights to Universal or build it in another Disney park.Posted June 28, 2012 at 11:43 AM

Disney isn't going to change their minds, imaginnering has already began with construction later this year. While DHS would of been a better choice, AK is the second best.Posted June 28, 2012 at 12:12 PM

They actually begin construction next year.Posted June 28, 2012 at 1:48 PM

Late 2012 or Very Early 2013. Either way they aren't selling the rights.Posted June 28, 2012 at 2:49 PM

Disney should take Journey to the Center of the Earth's concept and create the same ride but with Pandora's plants and animals instead. The AA lava monster at the end could be replaced by the black creature that goes after Jake. I have a feeling that they will do it. It would be a missed opportunity if they don't do it.Posted July 11, 2012 at 5:50 PM

Whatever they do, I rather not see those prototype ultra light dragon flyers imagineering was supposedly testing out recently, flying around the land. I'm willing to suspend disbelief for the sake of good show, but it's kinda hard to ignore a noisy prop engine sticking out the back of a Dragon/Bird like creature when they are supposed to gracefully soar through the air.Posted July 11, 2012 at 7:58 PM

Disney has made some big mistakes like Body Wars, Mission Space and the original CA. I went to see the Avatar movie and liked it; however I don't know anyone who is a big follower of the whole Avatar thing. I think they could have come up with something better. Posted July 12, 2012 at 7:42 AM

One more thing. They are planning to make a huge sequal to the first one. So this might be bigger than we think.Posted July 12, 2012 at 10:49 AM

The only people that I have ever heard say they didn't like Cars are here on this site. Cars was a huge hit with kids, and that is why it is doing great at DCA. Posted July 12, 2012 at 11:09 AM
