..Theme park rides are sometimes referred to as "juegos" in Spanish, so the direct translation to English is games. Posted July 8, 2012 at 5:09 PM To answer the original question, I don't know what happened but more than likely a mechanical failure or a guest misbehaving on the ride. This happens every now and then, and nothing serious or big happened or else it would have been national news.

Splash Mountain does not have lap bars… Posted July 9, 2012 at 6:02 AM And how do you go on Disney world?
From Dominick D
Brian, last year they installed them.Posted July 9, 2012 at 6:36 AM

Thx Dom…. I did not know that… But the hill is not steep and I do not believe it was necessary. Posted July 9, 2012 at 7:56 AM A few years ago IOA added these bars but IOA has a much steeper hill.. I always thought Splash Mountain should change the angle of their drop to make it more exciting.

Wow, you guys are really harsh on a foreign speaker trying to post in English. Many foreign languages put the modifier after the word so the translation looks screwed up to us. Noun then adjective, verb then adverb. I can't get the hang of that sentence structure and that is why I am terrible at foreign languages. But I understand the concept. Give the kid a break. I agree, Tony. Some people are just too harsh.Posted July 9, 2012 at 9:49 AM

I’m really disappointed that several of you made fun af a non native english speaker trying to write in english.Posted July 10, 2012 at 1:05 PM Andres, I’m sorry your post was ridiculed. It took me a couple of times but I think I understand what you were asking. And I think Karly and Manny are most likely correct. Sometimes the rides experiences mechanical failure. The ladies working there may have been worried for the safety of everyone on the ride - sometimes people panic when a ride stops. But you got off safely and got a fast pass to return so it seems they did a fine job. Did you go back and ride it?
From Karly Tenney
Yeah that's not nice to make fun of a non native English speaker. English is not easy to learn if you dont know itPosted July 10, 2012 at 2:16 PM

well riding the splash mountain ride a man felt ill half way threw the rid and saw a exit door the man tried to exit the train and was then struck by another incoming train the man suffered many injuries and i believe he is deadPosted July 10, 2012 at 11:09 PM

Um..I'm guessing the above post may not be factually accurate...at least as it relates to Andres' original post. Posted July 11, 2012 at 2:31 AM Ed, if you're going to post something like that, please provide a credible source.
From James Trexen
I can provide Ed's source, but fail to actually see the relevance as this occurred long ago before the lap bars were installed.Posted July 11, 2012 at 6:31 AM http://html.wesh.com/orl/news/themeparknews/stories/themeparknews-20001105-165355.html
From Mike Gallagher
Yeah, that was my point. Ed's posting in this thread IMPLIED that this was the reason for the delay on Andres' ride.Posted July 11, 2012 at 6:38 AM I remembered the story, but also knew it was long ago and had zero relevance to this incident.
From Bryce McGibeny
I'm really sorry Andres! I had no idea you were a foreign speaker and I just thought you just had really bad grammar. And even if you did, it still was rude.Posted July 11, 2012 at 7:40 AM I shouldn't have bashed on you like I did and I hope you can forgive me. And I hope you ended up having a really fun day at Magic Kingdom.
