Splash mountain incident disney world
Walt Disney World: something wrong happened at splash mountain on 07/06/2012
Hey guys yesterday i was on disney world at magic kingdom and something wrong happened i was on the car ready for the ride in splash mountain and i get trapped they stopped the game about an hour or something like that the ladies started to run side to side really worried and then they unlocked our bars or that things and they gived us a fastpass but i want to know what happened...
It was probably a mechanical failure
Where is Mexico FL btw,
Also, I never knew that Splash Mountain was a game!
And I didn't know Disney World was a ride at Magic Kingdom....
And I didn't know "gived" was a word...
And I never knew lap bars were called that things...
..Theme park rides are sometimes referred to as "juegos" in Spanish, so the direct translation to English is games.
To answer the original question, I don't know what happened but more than likely a mechanical failure or a guest misbehaving on the ride. This happens every now and then, and nothing serious or big happened or else it would have been national news.
Splash Mountain does not have lap bars…
And how do you go on Disney world?
Brian, last year they installed them.
Thx Dom…. I did not know that… But the hill is not steep and I do not believe it was necessary.
A few years ago IOA added these bars but IOA has a much steeper hill..
I always thought Splash Mountain should change the angle of their drop to make it more exciting.

Wow, you guys are really harsh on a foreign speaker trying to post in English. Many foreign languages put the modifier after the word so the translation looks screwed up to us. Noun then adjective, verb then adverb. I can't get the hang of that sentence structure and that is why I am terrible at foreign languages. But I understand the concept. Give the kid a break.
I agree, Tony. Some people are just too harsh.
I agree, give em a break.
I’m really disappointed that several of you made fun af a non native english speaker trying to write in english.
Andres, I’m sorry your post was ridiculed. It took me a couple of times but I think I understand what you were asking. And I think Karly and Manny are most likely correct. Sometimes the rides experiences mechanical failure. The ladies working there may have been worried for the safety of everyone on the ride - sometimes people panic when a ride stops. But you got off safely and got a fast pass to return so it seems they did a fine job.
Did you go back and ride it?
Yeah that's not nice to make fun of a non native English speaker. English is not easy to learn if you dont know it
well riding the splash mountain ride a man felt ill half way threw the rid and saw a exit door the man tried to exit the train and was then struck by another incoming train the man suffered many injuries and i believe he is dead
Um..I'm guessing the above post may not be factually accurate...at least as it relates to Andres' original post.
Ed, if you're going to post something like that, please provide a credible source.
I can provide Ed's source, but fail to actually see the relevance as this occurred long ago before the lap bars were installed.

Yeah, that was my point. Ed's posting in this thread IMPLIED that this was the reason for the delay on Andres' ride.
I remembered the story, but also knew it was long ago and had zero relevance to this incident.
I'm really sorry Andres! I had no idea you were a foreign speaker and I just thought you just had really bad grammar. And even if you did, it still was rude.
I shouldn't have bashed on you like I did and I hope you can forgive me. And I hope you ended up having a really fun day at Magic Kingdom.
