Marriage Proposal IdeasWalt Disney World: Ideas? Experience?
From Matt Sides
Hey all. I'm looking for interesting and unique ideas to ask my girlfriend to marry me, while we're on our trip to Orlando. We're going to be doing all the Disney parks, Universal, and Sea World.... I don't have a preference at which park I'd want to pop the question at.Posted July 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM Just something that isn't overly cheesy, but definitely something public. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Might be worth having a chat with Guest services, they probably get more than a few requests and might be able to suggest something unique that might require their help...Posted July 12, 2012 at 11:47 AM

GO back, Don’t do it… Years of misery.. Stay single….Run Away… Posted July 12, 2012 at 1:06 PM Well if she monitors your internet activity – it will not be a surprise anymore.

How about at a Publix Store in Orlando… Ask her in frozen food area and I guarantee it will be special… Posted July 12, 2012 at 1:08 PM Or maybe at a Dennys...

The tram ride, right when Jaws pops out of the water!Posted July 12, 2012 at 9:02 PM (seriously, no one at Universal Studios told Kevin Smith there wasn't a tram tour in Florida?)

Ok, be prepared to barf men.Posted July 13, 2012 at 12:22 AM From a girl's perspective I have always thought it would be amazing to be proposed to on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom with Wishes underway above the castle....preferably with When You Wish Upon a Star playing.

Thank you for the warning. It was definitely warranted ;)Posted July 13, 2012 at 2:52 AM

Thanks for the idea Kelly... I'll definitely keep that in mind. All my friends are guys so they've come up with interesting ideas, but not very romantic.Posted July 16, 2012 at 12:16 PM Like holding the ring above her head on Splash Mountain during the photo, then asking when she sees the picture.... but knowing up I'd probably drop the flipping ring. Nonetheless, I appreciate the input!

Splash Mountain idea is VERY cool though! As a clumsy person I can appreciate the worry of dropping the ring.Posted July 17, 2012 at 1:38 AM The picture idea in general is really good!! Hmmmm....

Strange. Did your girlfriend not pressure you yet?Posted July 18, 2012 at 10:03 AM My feeling is it is best to arrive at decision mutually and not via a unilateral pop the question moment. Since my warning is unlikely to be heeded, I advise nothing. You really need to come up with your own proposal. Only you know what she likes and how much you're willing to go with it.

I take a chance hoping it's not done yet!Posted August 17, 2012 at 6:54 PM Why not a "Marry Me?" sign for the picture in Splash Mountain? (Then she would see it in the picture!) OR... There is a wishing well at the right of the castle. You can pretend to wish for something... and right after, you confess to her that you wish she says "yes" ? OR... Well, proposal in front of the castle during Wishes is amazing (as long as there is not 10 000 people around you).

I proposed in France at Epcot. Quiet, pretty courtyard bench.Posted August 21, 2012 at 12:15 PM

If Disneyland were your destination, I would say the ferris wheel at DCA. Since you are going to Orlando, I would do it at the mexican boat ride at Epcot; all the pavilion is kind of romantic. The Wishes idea is a very good one. Good luck!Posted August 25, 2012 at 3:16 PM

I saw a really sweet proposal at CityWalk in the Rising Star karaoke club. The guy got up and sang her "their" song and then asked her up to the stage and proposed. It was on a busy Saturday night and the crowd went wild!Posted August 28, 2012 at 9:22 AM
