Let's brainstorm a Star Wars theme park

Have at it!

If were were all designing a Star Wars theme park together...what elements would we put in? what lands? what rides? restaurants? shops? Consider this a cumulative effort, where everyone suggests something and it's part of the plan...just throw something or some things at the wall and see what we all come up with.

My first pitch is a HUGE replica of the Death Star as the "Cinderella Castle" of the park. Bigger than Spaceship Earth housing a Spidey-like 3D dark-ride and a gift shop themed to the trash compactor room, including statues of Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie fighting off the one-eyed water creature.

One main idea I have thought of is a hub and spoke design with the hub being a massive indoor space port through which guests can access different planets (spokes).

I agree the icon would be the Death Star, but I think it should house several rides including a Spiderman style dark ride and a giant coaster.

Endor- Rides: Star Tours 2, Speeder Bike Racing.

Tatooine- Rides: Luke's Landspeeder Coaster, Podracing

Hoth- Rides: Rebel Shooters (a shooting ride)

I'll probably give more ideas later.

I would make the entrance area be the City of Naboo. It's neo-classical design and inspirations would work nicely as a very beautiful entry way into the park and lend itself to shops, eateries, and such.

MAIN CENTER PIECE/HUB
The Naboo capital city would transition to the main hub and center piece of the park, the Jedi Academy. Out front of the academy would be the training area and show stage for stunts, musicals, character interaction, etc.

CORUSCANT
Tomorrowland style area. Urban, futuristic city. Some kind of 3D or 4D adventure show based on whatever current Star Wars cartoon, a dark ride shooter ala MIB or Buzz, a Cirque de Soliel style stage show, and a Star Tours ride. The main attraction would be the Death Star Escape indoor coaster. Think Mummy at USO but with Strom Troopers and Vader instead of Amun Ra and zombies.

ENDOR
Woodland theme, primitive structures mostly with a little empire technology here and there. Nice size wooden coaster called the Speeder Bike Chase. Goes through the trees and ewok village, maybe around a huge AT-AT walker. Also have a Ewok Village walk through similar to Swiss Family Robinson but cooler. Third attraction would be ewok gliders similar to Terradon Flyers at IOA. Fourth attraction would be a Jedi/stunt show ala Indiana Jones with a few Jedi and a bunch of Storm Trooper fodder with real laser effects, explosions, and fights.

NABOO
Rich, tropical climate with water themes. Log flume ride that is enclosed in glass under water where you see real fish but also what appears to be the underwater cities of Jar-Jar's people. Includes Star Wars music and narrative. Ends with a lift hill where you "return to the surface" but then hit the flume. Second would be spinner ride ala Dumbo but will be the Yellow starfighters from Ep1. Third attraction would be a shooting ride ala Toy Story with each screen changing from Droids to Storm Troopers to Sand People but all done in cartoonish ways to minimize violence. Fourth attraction would be a boat ride through the swamps of Dagobah with all kinds of creatures and noises and animatronic Yoda. Shows lifting of X-Wing fighter, Luke training and includes the Darth Vader encounter.

TATOOINE
This area would be dedicated to the Pod Racing regions of the newer movies, Jabba's Palace, and the Mos Eisley spaceport. Kind of like Adventure Land. There would be a pod racing coaster on the level of Thunder Mountain through a mountainous terrain area. The main attraction would be Jabba's palace where you board an Expedition Everest style coaster with a Rancor monster instead of the Yeti. It would be called Rancor Espace or something. A unique store/attraction would be a huge Jawa sandcrawler that you go into and design/build your own RC droid (ala Ridemakerz).

The Mos Eisley (main part of this land) would have Aliens all around, animatronic animals integrated into the scenery. Robots here and there. Then you would enter the hub/spaceport area and go to these different areas. The "Cantina Bar & Grill" would be the big draw here with a buffet, character meets, and such.
