Walt Disney World: looking for some good ideas on items i should bring on my trip

im looking for some good ideas on items we might want to bring with us for our trip to Disney world.

You can be one of the Disney Mamas and get Disney toys from Walmart to surprise the kids in line.

mo money, mo money, mo money.. and a good supply of rechargeable batteries for the digital camera with 2 gig card..

pictures, take them every where for every thing and edit/delete later at home.

what every you take be sure to have fun as it is the happiest place on earth.. unless you are at universal.. :)

What time of year are you going?

My biggest tip (if you hate walking in the rain) is to buy a poncho from outside of Disney property.

we are going in September and will also go to universal studios. just looking for some good ideas of things to bring. plan on bringing plenty of money. but if i can save money by bringing some needed supplies with us all the better.

We always bring a large stock of wine & alcohol. Saves a ton of money on drinks at the hotel pool and on site hotel environs.

Are you renting a car? If so, stop by a supermarket on the way to stock up on bottled water and some snacks. If your room is equipped with a fridge and microwave, you could also get some milk, juice and breakfast items, plates, and utensils. Another way to save money is to eat outside the park for some of your meals, if you can wait. Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney is pretty reasonable and the food is great. You might want to research on souvenirs to distinguish between park exclusives and items you could get cheaper elsewhere. Finally, it's a vacation. So saving money might be less important than saving time. Plan what you want to do keeping in mind that a money saving "idea" could throw a wrench in your plans. I'd rather save headaches and heartaches than a few bucks.

This is such a subjective topic. I think TPI had a topic on what to bring a year or two ago, see if you can find it.

I think having a way to stay in touch with everyone in your party is important. Make sure everyone has their own phone. You can buy simple pay-as-you-go call and text phones with 100 minutes or more for less than $30 each at any drug or department store. Get them ahead of time and make sure you put each other's number in memory.

Cheap ponchos for the daily showers, several pairs of shoes/sneakers which is needed to avoid blisters and and to switch out when they get wet, small tubes of sunscreen, lip balm, clothing with lots of pockets, hats, sunglasses, rain-proof pouches for tickets and money and key cards, and a great attitude to enjoy your visit and not get excited over the small problems you will encounter.

I'm in no way a germophobe but... wet wipes/baby wipes...whatever you want to call them.
I bought a few small packets from the pharmacy here in England to pack into my 'walking round the parks bag'.
Great if you feel a little icky and want to eat on the fly, just to freshen up your hands. (And for little mucky faces) :-)

Kelly is right on that. I rarely leave WDW without some sort of plague-like ailment unless I use anti-bacteria wipes early and often. Not only every American disease, but every worldwide disease is just a snotty kid or sneezing dad away. And there are MANY obvious sick people roaming the parks at all times of the year. "I'll be damned if being at death's door is gonna cause me to miss my vacation and lose my deposits!"

Gift cards for each of the kids that they can use for souvineers. Something that my family also used to do was getting fanny packs for each of the kids where they can put their autograph books, water bottles, and cameras (if they got them!)

I would forgo the entire poncho thing and go with rain windbreakers that fold up in the bag. We found that they last longer.

Bring a camera too, but I think you knew that. There is also a way to get your photopass early from Disney. I always found the pictures they take professionally nice.

Thank you for all the advise we will hire a taxi service to get to the park so stopping at a store to stock up on some supplies before the hotel is an awesome idea. Thank you for all the other great ideas as well

Oh one more question does any one know of a good taxi service we will be staying at shades of Green but they don't have a shuttle service from the airport like all the other disney hotels
