LeFou's Brew or Butterbeer

Walt Disney World: This is not meant to be a Disney v. Universal topic. I just want to know what beverage you prefer and why?

I love both beverages but LeFou's Brew gives Butterbeer a run for it's money. Both have great cream foam at the top, but LeFou's Brew has the advantage with that slightly because of the strong natural taste of the Passion Fruit in the cream. Butterbeer has the advantage because it comes frozen or cold. Both beverages have a nice taste and come in a nice serving size. The other advantage that Butterbeer has is that it's cheaper than LeFou's Brew, and is more attainable to get with multiple locations selling the Drink inside of WWoHP. Whereas LeFou's Brew can only be purchased within Gaston's Tavern in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. I think if Disney advertises LeFou's Brew more it could bring on a real challenge to Butterbeer.

Butterbeer. Not even close.

I have no desires for frozen apple juice with a gross foam topping. It sounded interesting on paper, but was really disappointing in reality.

I thought it tasted great, the juice and foam were good

I didn't like butterbeer, and LeFou's sounds good, so I would guess I would like LeFou's better, although there was a good point made about availability. I hate that you can only get certain drinks in only one place at the WDW Resort.

Butterbeer. It's a unique taste that allows you to feel more a part of the world of Harry Potter, since the characters drank this in the books. Le Fou's is frozen apple juice that makes you feel like you just bought a cold drink in a theme park. It's just a cynical knock-off of Butterbeer, with no backstory connection to anything.

LeFou's Brew is delicious though, and I see your point also Robert. It would be more popular if there was a backstory.

I haven't gone to Disney in the New Fantasyland era, but Butterbeer is simply amazing. Best drink I've ever had.

Butterbeer, definitely. Like Robert said, Butterbeer is very much from the world of Harry Potter and is naturally something guests would want to experience in the real world, whereas LeFou's Brew (with no real connection to the source material beyond that it looks something like the beer in the movie) exists because Disney felt the need to have their own version of Butterbeer.

Having had both, I'd have to say that both LeFou's Brew and Butterbeer have their merits. Why gives points to Butterbeer because it has story connections? I think both of them are excellent drinks that convey what both parks are going for.

What would I prefer if I had a choice? Butterbeer. I'm a Potter fan through and through.

But really, you shouldn't knock the drink 'cause it 'doesn't make sense'. It's a drink. :P
