What does everybody think about Tony Baxter's departure?

It's not surprising, but what are your thoughts?

I am not surprised about this because Barnabus A.K.A Baxter was already put in on Big Thunder so Disney could wait until Baxter stepped down and then they could say he was a "Disney Legend".
So what do you think?

Actually, I was very surprised he retired. It's a shame we're losing a theme park legend.

PS, check out @EvilTonyBaxter on Twitter. You'll thank me later.

Haha hilarious Dom, it is sad that we're losing him but he will go down in the history books for sure! :)

It's a real shame because the man truly cared, and worked side by side with the first generation of legends at WDI. If he stepped down because he felt he had nothing left to give and it was time for him to retire then fine. But most reports indicate that Mr. Baxter was increasingly frustrated with the politics going on in the offices in Glendale, and was continuously being marginalized as an effective talent and driving force behind large scale projects. It would appear he took the stance of, "if you treat me as a part time employee with limited input, then I may as well actually be involved on a part time basis". Sad, considering he still is relatively young, extremely passionate, and has 40 years of irreplaceable experience to draw upon. The fact that he didn't choose to just ride off into the sunset, never to be seen or heard from again, but instead decided to still make himself available in some capacity to allow his invaluable talents to still be put to use for WDI and the younger Imagineers coming up, speaks incredible volumes of the mans character. I always respected the man as an innovative, passionate artist, but as of now, that is only second to how much I respect him as a heartfelt, stand-up, honorable man. Thank you very much for all that you have given the world Mr. Baxter, I'm sure there is still plenty we have yet to celebrate.
