Anyone have ideas has to what will go into Avatarland?Walt Disney World: Latest guesses?
From Will SullivanI've really been thinking about what Avatarland might consist of ever since I returned from Animal Kingdom the other day. Possibly a Banshee (the dragon like things) coaster? Anyone have thoughts/hopes/ideas?

From Cory RPlans were leaked a while back that showed what could possibly be going into Avatarland. The main ride will be somewhat similar to Soarin, housed in a large theatre using giant wrap around screens. The plans showed that it would be in 3D, however, and one can imagine it will be a much more intense version of Soarin in terms of imagined speed. It would likely be themed to the Banshee flight scene. A second ride would be a boat tour ride that introduces us to the native plants and animals of Pandora, likely using Animatronics. Think a cross between Jungle Cruise and Living with the Land. There also seemed to be the possibility of a third ride, if budget allows, that would be a roller coaster, similar to the Tron coaster being built for Shanghai Disneyland (with a different theme of course).

That being said, the land is taking longer to develop than many anticipated, and apparently WDI is still in the research/blue sky phase, so those plans may have changed completely. Also, now that the screenplays for the 3 sequels are being developed, WDI may hold out to incorporate some of the new stuff in to the land. Avatar 2 is supposed to take place in a underwater world off Pandora, so maybe we'd see some sort of underwater ride (a return of subs to WDW? :))
From Will SullivanThanks. Sounds interesting.

From James RaoOne rumor says the Soarin'-type ride would use a customized version of this ride system: Pandora's Box. Wouldn't be the first time Disney has worked with Vekoma....

Whatever they add, I cannot wait!
From Will SullivanAren't they doing the Mine Train right now?

From Cory RThe Pandora's Box ride system from Vekoma for the Soarin-type ride would be wicked cool. It looks and sounds like it would be a cross between Soarin and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, in 3D, which would be awesome.

And I do think Pandora at night will be out of this world gorgeous if done right. If done right, it should be the best looking land at night of any theme park in the world.
From Oscar MarquezI don't know. Maybe a Soarin' like ride.

From chris conaI love Disney and it is my favorite place In the world but I am not excited at all for this land! They could've put something so much more cooler then avatar which sucks and it's not Disney at all. Also universal and all the new stuff they have is making Disney look like a coward like step it up already
Posted September 5, 2013 at 9:32 PM
From James TrexenA coward?

From James TrexenDaniel, I like it, but I'm sure the Universal execs wouldn't allow it. Maybe they'll let Disney have the Smurfs.

From N BI always thought Disney jumped on the latest "hot" movie franchise after Universal acquired Potter. It doesn't matter though, Disney could put in a land based on the movie Yentl and people will flock to it.
Posted September 8, 2013 at 2:55 PM
From David L.NB, Universal made a show about Waterworld and people flock to that too.

From Frank PrshaDoes anyone else on here think we should start some kind of petition to bring rides like Journey to the center of the earth and Mystic Manor to Wdw? I would love to see those rides there but it would take a lot of people to convince Disney to actually do it.

From Oscar MarquezI know the attraction of Avatarland.

Tan Tan Taaaaaan.
From O TGreat news, Avatarland will have it's own Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! You will be painted blue with light up freckles and genital hair wigs and a loincloth. You will be one of the few that can interact with the AA animals by plugging your (what will be called) magic hair into them.
Posted September 15, 2013 at 9:50 AM
There will be recreation of the evil corporation base that houses a restaurant where a secret desert called unobtainium but it will be hard to get. In the shops you evil RDA corporation will try to sell environmentally un-friendly plastic light up toys and dolls to the visitors of Pandora.
From Cory RI know you're being sarcastic, O T, but the plugging your "magic hair" into AA creatures to interact with them is actually a great idea and could really work. It sounds like a great way to combine the interactivity theme park designers are now looking to put into their new attractions, with an element that adds realism to the land by staying true to the story.

As for your unobtanium desert idea/sarcastic criticism of the grey stuff at Be Our Guest, it would make sense if a desert called "unobtanium" would be hard to get, lol.
From Tyler HarrisSomeone said a rumor that a Multi-Dimensional coaster is coming to Avatarland, cand a E-Ticket dark ride.

It's just a rumor.
