Disney’s Cinderella Castle in Florida.

Walt Disney World: Cleaning up the water?

Have you noticed the water around the iconic castle… (Well it’s not really a Castle, more like a gift shop and restaurant)… But I digress…

I believe the water should be in better condition. You walk over a bridge, get ready to take a great Photo, look over the edge and see the dirty, cloudy trash floating water…

Now I understand it is impossible to keep all of the floating trash giving the number of visitors, but the water itself should be cleaner… I do not think it should look like the cannel in the Venetian in Las Vegas either.

Let’s hear your thoughts.

I think the water around Cinderella's Castle (and yes, it is a castle) may be linked to the Jungle Cruise river which is dyed to make it look deep and ominous.

I agree with TH. I think its dark to hide the depth.

I will say that Brian's thread raises an VERY interesting point. I'm very much a proponent of the "park-as-a-platform" approach to themed entertainment. What (if anything) could WDI do that would make the water around Cinderella's Castle a greater contributor to the park's ambiance? Fountains? Lighting? Physical effects?

Thoughts anyone?

The magic kingdom has it's own green water system. It starts in the rivers of America, then goes to Jungle Cruse, then into the "castle" moat.

Hmmm ... Interesting. I have seen the Rivers of America drained for maintenance and I have seen the Jungle Cruise river drained for maintenance. It would seem like the water around the Castle could become autonomous from those other attractions.

Well Disney could (And it would cost $$$ of course) use different water for the CASTLE. Have to redirect what they do now…. Add some new water features…. Maybe even a boat ride around the castle.

Think about the fountain of the Belliago in Vegas. They use water fountains very well to draw you to them… (Not that MK needs to draw any more folks)…

AS far as I know the Swan boats track is still in place, would be easy to bring this back. It would be a nice leisurely ride like Small World and TTA.
