Pantopia- BGT's soon to be Retro Area
Busch Gardens Tampa:
Do we have enough information about this land?
Pantopia will become Busch Garden's new land in 2014 with Falcon's Fury as the centerpiece. But is this land a cover-up of Timbuktu? Or will old attractions be renovated to fit the theme?

They've already announced that the theater (former Festhaus) will be renovated, and my guess would be that a "new" show will be seen in the 4D theater, but aside from that, I would expect just some fresh paint and overlays to express the new theme. Perhaps over the next year, they will gradually do more to each of the individual pre-existing rides to incorporate the new theme. However, I would expect anything beyond some name changes and superficial decorations.

I have mixed feeling about the renaming and redecor of the area. The whole park was an African theme with African named areas. I miss the area Congo and don't even see it listed on the map, though technically the one train station, Kumba, and Congo Rapids are still part of Congo. The new name seems out of place and artificial to me, but I'm all for them adding some colorful atmosphere as long as they keep an African theme. I just hope it don't look cheesy and I'm very afraid it may.
Their 3D or 4D films were dumb. Maybe they can go the way of Epcot's soaring. That's much more fun and interesting. I really don't like watching a 4D film and having recycled water splash in my face and it smells bad also! I'm glad Busch Gardens is getting rid of those films. Yes, it could be something more like Soaring and Europe In The Air film rides but with African scenery and many animals and something else added in, and made a little more fun.
