Indy & Temple of Forbidden Eye

Disneyland: Thoughts on the refurb

Rode the newly refurbished Indiana Jones and Temple of the Forbidden Eye today. Couldn't find any specifics on what was happening during the refurb, but here are a few things that I noticed.

-A new coat of paint overall.
-The lightning effects in the hall between the Mara Idol and first Indy appearance are better. Brighter and more defined.
-"explosion" at Overlook is better timed.
-Headlight effects through the Mummy room and Bug Room are brighter, but jostle slightly. You can notice when it transitions from one light to another.
-"explosion" at end of Bridge better timed.
- Snake looks cleaner

But the disappointment - the ball didn't work. Not sure if it was a timing thing or not. We did pause/wait after ducking under the ball before the final turn to Indy. (If you're held here, it's because the loading platform is backed up)

Everything was looking great, but then a huge letdown when the ball didn't work. It's day 2 of it being opened and the ball doesn't work?!?!?!

Anyone else been on it yet?

Not yet, I'm probably going back before Christmas.

I actually it was supposed to be closed until 2013..

Was it always scheduled to reopen at this time or did they simply finish early?

I believe that Disney wanted to get this refurbishment out of the way before the epic-long, 10-month rebuild on Big Thunder Mountain started in January.

Wait, what are they doing with Thunder Mountain?
