Happy Holiday to all at Theme Park InsiderJust a Message to all...
From Brian Emery
Happy Holiday to all at TPI.Posted December 24, 2012 at 12:58 PM All of you have made this year and every year here at this site enjoyable… I just wanted to say Happy Holidays (Whatever holidays you celebrate) to all.. Unfortunately this year has been trying for some. We just had a Massacre in Newtown, CT – which is only about a 1.5 hour drive from where I live. I would ask you to keep them in mind and help out anyway you can. I sent a donation to a local bank fund set up for the families to help out those in their time of need… Remember Life is precious and things can change quickly. Enjoy every ride… Wow I like that – “Enjoy every Ride” – Might be a candidate for a new TPI themed T-shirt.. Have a save year to all…

"Enjoy Every Ride" IS pretty good.Posted December 24, 2012 at 2:19 PM My favorite singer/songwriter, the late great Warren Zevon, was a good friend and sometime guest of David Letterman. When Zevon was dying, he came on Letterman's show. Dave devoted the entire hour to him, only time he's ever done that for a single guest. When he interviewed him, he said something like, "What have you learned from going through this illness and knowing death is close?" Zevon's reply: "I learned you've got to enjoy every sandwich." That later became the title of a Zevon Tribute CD. This "Enjoy Every Ride" made me think of that. I like it, Brian.

Just had to chime in here, Mike, to thank you for your shout-out to Warren Zevon. One of my all-time favorites too :-)!! My first intro to him came from my father's incessant playing of "Werewolves", "Excitable Boy" and "Roland". These became some of my favorite songs, then I grew to appreciate the real greatness of albums such as "Envoy", "Transverse City" and "Sentimental Hygiene" (my absolute favorite....). One of his last albums would also make a good t-shirt for TPI.... "My Ride's Here" ;-)Posted December 25, 2012 at 7:09 PM
