I'm planning on going to Disney World Florida next December. Having been to Disney pre-parenthood, I know that it's all an amazing experience no matter what your age. Can anyone tell me which Disney Hotel would be the best for a 5 year old little girl who is princess mad? Thanks! Sara
It all depends on your price range. There are two choices. One would be to stay at Port Orleans Riverside. They have royal guest rooms that are made for the princess fans. The other would be to stay at one of the monorail resorts with a theme park view room. Then your little princess could gaze at Cinderella's castle to her heart's content. I have stayed at both the Grand Floridian and Contemporary Resort and I find that the best view is from the Contemporary. The Grand Floridian though has a princess tea party and dinner with Cinderella, Prince Charming, The evil stepmother and step sisters. I would agree that if price is no object, Grand Floridian is the place to go. Those rooms start at nearly $300/night, and go up from there, but you're essentially pay for the convenience of the Monorail, and the ammeneties of a 4-star resort.
There are the new themed rooms in Port Orleans and the new Art of Animation Resort, which are in the $100-200 range/night. If you're budget is really limited, you can always book one of the value resorts or stay off-site and decorate the room yourself.
I'm told the Grand Floridian has an amazing character breakfast.
Whether you stay at the Grand Floridian or not, you should try to make a recommendation for the Cinderella dinner at their restaurant. Not only is Cinderella good, but the stepsisters and queen are outstanding; we took my daughter a few years ago when she was around 4 or 5, and she loved it and remembers details to this day. And the food was better than we expected.
Additionally, as a side-note, your daughter might like getting made up in the Bibbity-Bobbety-Boo boutique, which our daughter also loved, but even in the lower-priced options this is expensive.

I think your daughter would highly enjoy staying at the Port Orleans Royal Rooms, at either Riverside or French Quarter. The Riverside rooms are alot nicer from the pictures I have seen. While it may not be as luxurious as Grand Floridian, the rooms have an overwhelming princess feel (more so than Grand Floridian in my opinion) and are also much more affordable and reasonably priced.
