Anyone remember Akbar's Adventure Tours?
Busch Gardens Tampa: I can't seem to find anything about this ride except for a few short video clips.
Does anyone remember the Akbar ride at Busch Gardens? It was a simulator ride in the Egypt area which had Martin Short taking you on a tour of Egypt. I remember riding it as a kid in 1998? and I'm not sure when or why they shut it down. One part that still sticks out to me was the mummy that popped out from the simulator's roof. Is there any place I can find a video of this ride? While I don't remember much of it, I still think they could use the building for a simulator ride (I know its used for Howl-O-Scream, but the park needs a solid family thrill ride).

Sorry, couldn't resist. I've looked all over the place and there's not one video of the ride itself.
I only rode this once long ago. It used the same simulator system as Star Tours and Europe in the Air/Corkscrew Hill/Questor. They used to only open it as a capacity expander, and was typically closed even on seemingly crowded days, even though it appeared on the maps.
My guess is that most of the hardware has been shipped to Williamsburg to serve as a part bucket for their simulators.
I went on it once. worst simulator programing ever. then the stupid thing that popped out over the screen at the end. Theirs a reason it didn't last long.
I think it operated pretty regularly when the Egypt secion of the park first opened. I seen it open on my fall annual trip for at least 2 or 3 years. Back when the King Tut Tumb was a guided tour. Might be tough to find that video since camcorders were pretty big back then and they made you put everything under your seat.
