King's Island, late May

Kings Island: I would love to have insider advice on King's Island. I will be there when the gates open on the 23rd.

I will be going to King's Island on Thursday May 23 and Friday the 24th and would appreciate any and all advice on how to have a great time and not spend it in line! (Don't recommend flash pass as I will not take that option.) It has been twenty years since I have been to KI and I want my kids to experience the Beast.

I know that it is well past the days that you went to kings island, but just for anyone else that comes across this and has the same problem I do not recommend buying a fast pass during the month of may. From experience, I find that the park is pretty dead when it first opens. I went on a Thursday in mid-may and waited for no more than 5 minutes for most rides. There is a lot of fun to be had at King's island. Besides all the great coasters and fantastic children's area, there is also the recently opened "Dinosaurs Alive". I thought that it was the coolest thing since sliced bread and only cost five dollars a person. And if you get too tired or need to cool off there are a lot of air conditioned areas with lots of seating. Unfortunately, once the water park opens up and all the kids get out of school(the very end of May), the park tends to get very crowded. From the months of June to August, I suggest you go during a weekday and get their early!
