Disney confirms the DVC expansion of the Polynesian Resort, confirming the speculation. Reports state that "other refurbishments" will be made alongside the DVC expansion. It seems the DVC building will supplant the Tahiti section of the resort. Thoughts?

I am not surprised.

If they can sell it, why not? My family are DVC members and they thought they were just buying in to stay at one resort (OKW). Now they can go on the Cruise, Hawaii, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Adventures by Disney, etc. One more DVC section is a plus for us!

It is my understanding and would be my decision that Disney will open more non-Disney resort, non-cruise DVC options in the coming years.

non Disney resort? Meaning like Alanai?

That is right. Disney has considered and subsequently cancelled a ski resort, a Newport Coast, CA beach resort, a Times Square property, and a Washington D.C. resort. It is my understanding that DVC will follow through on some similar projects.
