Has Anyone Actually Seen 'Escape from Tomorrow'?
Walt Disney World: Post your thoughts if you have!
Now that the unauthorized Disney movie "Escape From Tomorrow" has been released in select theaters and on video-on-demand platforms, have any of you seen the movie? I watched it on the latter, and I must say it met my expectations, which were very high. For a movie filmed on adequate cameras by a first time director, I couldn't be more pleased with the movie. It's a fascinating, surreal look at the corporate side of Disney.
I saw it at Sundance.
While I enjoyed it I did so with reservations. It's muddled and the director is trying so hard to be David Lynch rather than having his own style. Quite unique. Worth a watch for sure
I thought the movie was ok, definitely worth a rental just because it's Disney and we all love the parks. I thought it was a good idea but after watching 45 minutes of watching a grown man chase around teenage girls I got the point that even a pure place such as Disney is sexual, by the third act I just felt like it was overkill.
I know that the this film was thought up after a trip to Disney when an elderly woman with the film maker's party had a breakdown at the parks (she had been though a war before moving to America). I honestly thought a better more thought provoking film would have been exploring how a place with so much external stimuli would effect somebody with PTSD. Maybe an Iraq war vet comes home to his/her family and before being diagnosed goes to Disney and has an internal struggle.

I saw it. For me the movie was seriously marred by having to watch a middle age protagonist spend a substantial part of his film lusting after a girl who appeared to be well under 18.
