About Avalanche

The fastest feeling ride at the pleasure beach by far.Appoximately 40 mph but feels way faster than it is.Very themed station too. -- Last edited by Michael Cresswell

This is quite a decent little ride, but nothing really more than that, the bends are good and you travel at quite a speed down the track, the theming in the station is also good, but the ride itself is a little too short, therefore i don't rate it highly. But it is worth going on where there is no queue. 7/10 - jack briggs

This ride is, like many of the better offerings at BPB, a return to the roots of early American amusement parks. Inspired by the old 'Flying Turns' ride, popular at many parks, including the late great Riverview in Chicago, these were usually made of wood (as is Knoebel's new recreation of this classic). Blackpool's being a steel-troughed variety, this ride conveys the unharnessed, free-flowing, trackless feel of careening down a twisting bobsled run. And my only real critique is one that applies to most rides of this type -- mainly that it's too damn SHORT! But it's lovely while it lasts. And if you're itching for a satisfyingly longer version of this experience, then check out 'Trace de Hourra' (spelling?) at Park Asterix just outside of Paris. - Paul Clemens

When i first went on this ride, i was about 10 i think, and i loved it. I went on it last year and it jus seemed slow with no thrill wat so ever! It is a good ride and i agree with the description it has a nicely themed station, but it just doesn't seem as fast nymore! - Ben Dore
