Okay, yes -- this IS also another knock-off of a better ride from another park (Knott's). But at least THIS time they did it really well. Surprisingly so considering the more limited space they had to work with. It lacks the vaultingly big central "Glory Hole" section of the KBF attraction, as well as its lovely and spacious "Rainbow Caverns" highlight, But, all that aside, this ain't half bad. And what IS there compares quite favorably -- in an alternate universe kind of way -- to the KBF version, with its simple animated figures engaged in various Old Western mining-related activities. While of necessity less elaborate than its Yankee progenitor, BPB's Gold Mine is something of an apples & pears experience in many ways. My only wish is that someday the BPB craftsmen convert it into a HAUNTED mine, as they really excel at that type of theming. Not only would it give the ride much more of a distinct character of its own, but it would also give BPB another "new" attraction to introduce to the public -- without substantially draining their pocketbook! Can you say "Boo"? - Paul Clemens
